If you saw the Mel Gibson movie Apocalypto here's what some Mayan experts have said about it's accuracy.

In the movie hundreds of people appear to be sacrificed at once.

The Aztecs are known to have sacrificed large numbers of people, though according to the archaeological record, we are unsure of how many would be sacrificed at one time.

There are no data to support that the Maya carried out sacrifice on such a large scale...

Just seems like dumb things to try and pick on.

Did they really live in straw huts?
Did they really not see a pyramid before.
Did they really kill people.
Did they really eat meat.
Did the king really sit there
Was there really an eclipse
Were women really sold as slaves.

It's just so petty lol. Non of that matters at all. Fucken who cares.

All four Indania Jones moves btw are as historically correct and factual as any other movie ever created.

who the fuck knows for sure,

I wasn't actually there, neither was anyone alive, so why the hell even ask the question you did?

that movie is Gibson's take on it, but he wasn't there either, so still fanciful imagination= 2% fact/98% bullshit.

I wish Mel Gibson was allowed to do that Holocaust movie and the one about the Vikings. He does awesome movies, they'd be fantastic.

Fair. But then there's this:

Other methods(of Mayan sacrifice)

Late Classic graffiti from a structure buried under Group G in Tikal depicts a sacrifice bound to a stake with his hands tied behind his head; the victim was disembowelled.[15] At the Classic period city of Palenque, a woman in her twenties was entombed alive to accompany a deceased nobleman as a funerary offering.[16]

At the Sacred Cenote in Chichen Itza, humans were hurled into the cenote during times of drought, famine or disease. The Sacred Cenote is a naturally occurring sinkhole eroded from the local limestone; it is approximately 50 metres (160 ft) wide and drops 20 metres (66 ft) to the water surface, with the water another 20 metres (66 ft) deep. The sides of the cenote are sheer. Human sacrifice was practiced right up until the Spanish conquest of Yucat√°n, well after the decline of the city.[15]

At times sacrifices were tightly bound into a ball and were bounced in a ritual reenactment of the ballgame.[16]

:D
