We stopped the Turks from entering Europe IN Austria. It's a significant battle that would have most likely changed Europe.

The Turks allied with the Mongols and fought it out against the Germans and allied Poland. The Mongols had been beaten by the Poles earlier and once they saw the Polish cavalry they turned and ran. Turks bought in new warfare such as digging tunnels etc. They didn't win though. :)

That was a second time in a short period where the East tried to enter Europe. The Mongols tried earlier through Poland but were met with massive resistance in West Poland and were denied entry into Central Europe. :)

Saw a media review on this film, and it had a few stills from the movie.

What struck me was the pic of some 100s of troops waiting on the pier for rescue. After THREE weeks of non stop combat, the uniforms are unmarked and as clean as new issue. Hair combed and no mud and guts on faces or uniforms or anywhere. All troops are looking to the right of frame presumably at an approaching vessel, only ONE soldier is looking up at an attacking plane directly overhead.

    UNimpressed!

(3 of the "Little Ships" are still there in the sand.)

I realize this is an old thread, but...

No, that was just a very small but verbal group of social justice warriors. They even complained about the French not being given any credit even though the opening scene showed French soldiers saving British soldiers and guarding the beaches.

Nobody really paid any attention to those complaints except a few reporters trying to stir up controversy.
