Good idea man, let's also socialize electricity too so I can keep my heater on full blast 24/7 this winter.
When everything is subsidized, nobody conserves these resources at all. Perhaps you can explain to me how this will save the environment ?

Hi 6 Eyes, I've been reading and here is what I see: The smart semi trucks will replace truck drivers, so corporations will make more profit.
The grocers will replace the cashiers, so customers will have to check out their own groceries on their smart Phones.
The taxi companies will replace the taxi drivers with smart cars for profit.
The train companies will replaces the engineers so more profit could be had.
The airline companies will replace the pilots with planes that fly themselves.
The steamship companies will replace the captains with auto pilot systems.
The chicken processing plants already sell mechanically separated chicken.
The courts now require on line filings...no more paper allowed.
If you buy a refrigerator at Sears, you have to use their kiosk.
And you have to use the kiosk to get your boarding pass at the airport.
So, I'm thinking there will not be many Americans employed in the near future, without a massive retraining program/effort by the government. In the mean time the poor could be afforded help, or kicked out to the curb. I think Socialism offers the answers considering the conditions in our world. There are millions of unemployed or under employed people who want to work and be able to care for themselves. Unfortunately, there are no fair living wage jobs available. There are no jobs with health benefits available. There are few anti discrimination laws which might help minorities and women find employment. With At Will Employment, the Republicans have fixed things so the employers can do anything at any time without legal accountability. Consequently, after this Republican arrogance, we need some serious socialism to fix this country.

OK but that doesn’t answer my question at all about how socialism will save the environment if you socialize resources like electricity and food. What’s the point of conservation of the government provides a subsidy? You went off on a tangent about employment and saving jobs from becoming obsolete

I think our environment and our people would be better served and protected by the government, because the government is not motivated by profit, as in the case of the multi national corporations.

So in other words, after Republican arrogance we need Democrat arrogance?

I have no example of Democrat arrogance. I just think socialized government services would be better for the common people. I like having my safe water from a government source. I like my electric service from a government source. I like my children and grandchildren educated in public schools. I have used government health care in other countries and liked it.

All that already exists in America. To have a certain job you might not be allowed to have a beard, you will not be able to show tattoo. You can not put certain color lights on a car because those colors are for emergency vehicles such as police and ambulances only if you do it is a traffic ticket. If you car stereo is too loud you will get a ticket also. I guess in your personal time you can play the stero loud of have blue lights. Many people do these things at car shows but you can not be on the public roads like that.

Things like that do not seem repressive to me. It's important the public knows who is a police officer so yes they should have a certain type of lights. And the stereo just means you are polite. Not everyone likes the music you do.

I find it pretty arrogant that the government thinks it knows what's best for all of us.

And I find it terrifying that people would willingly vote such a government into existence.

We are the government. It is our government. I trust our government more than the corporations who hide all their profit in other nations. I don't trust businesses who have their factories in China.

    @David0301

You don't seem to understand many things. Like why Greece was such a disaster and how diverse and succesful socialism is in other parts of Europe.

In California you could be arrested for using Blue "police color" lights on your car. In Florida you could be ticketed or arrested for camping on the beach.

Norway, England, Canada are three examples when the socialism I am talking about. Which is basically easy access to health care and education through tax dollars. Something that as European I don't think you can possibly understand how bad that is in Ameirca. So you romanticize a visit to California but you did not seem to notice the actual laws whem you were there.

Of course I know Europe is not perfect there is corruption there too. But an unchecked free market does not work. Some things are not for sale for the good of the people.

Do you live in some eastern part of Europe maybe an area that was once part of the USSR?

    i agree

but what about the spinning wheels I see in california ? ----> they are ilegal in a socialist country like mine
what about those subwoovers in cars that literally make the road tremble? ---> ilegal where i live
also taxi drivers in a socialist country must wear certain clothing, we still have many jobs were beards are forbidden, i think the government should back up a littel bit, that is going towards communism
