I can understand hyping up your first born. So many mothers, parents do this. But, this is Beyoncé's second birth.

 

I don't personally know her, or follow her music. I probably wouldn't have known about her either, if it wasn't for my sister. She used to be into her when she was Destiny's Child. I'm not sure if my sister is into her now.

 

In the late nineties my hometown canceled MTV and put up Animal Planet. I heard about Destiny's Child somehow, heard about Beyonce later on. I picked up magazines in waiting rooms here and there, but I guess she just happened not to be in any of them. I watched TV here and there...must have just missed her or wasn't paying attention. Though strangely I've been able to recognize Jay Z for years.
