What Are You Doing Right Now?

Happy 4th of July, All!...and if you are not in the USA...happy 4th anyway! .

Right now, I am boiling water for 3 boxes of elbow macaroni.....to make a big tuna salad for tomorrow....I have to go open up 4 albacore white tuna cans soon here....chop up red onions and celery.....Add noodles and miracle whip....mix altogether and put in the fridge before going to sleep. I let it go to the last minute. I was busy doing other things all day....
It is one of the food items I am bringing to my neighbor's July 4th barbecue celebration tomorrow. They usually have steaks, shrimp, hot dogs, hamburgers...green salad....so they are usually lacking on the salads. i am making sure there is another salad that is out of this world, too, for tomorrow now....

So what are you doing right now?

I feel lazy and tired right now and do not want to move, though.....

almost falling asleep so ill probably just go see if i can push out a small shit and go to bed

holidays = fewer buses running.
fewer buses running = staying home and playing on the computer.

its also, you know, typical for this time of year,
fine weather for mad dogs and englishmen,
neither of which are me.

it is the day the nation i'm surrounded by officially began.
that's cool. and it gives people a day off, that's cool too.

i'm even a veteran of its military.
that's what pays my pension.

so my feelings about it are basically kind of neutral.

it started out with some really great ideas,
but its never in practice been god's gift to the universe.

no nation is.
i have one though.
its imaginary inside my head.
and its flag is mostly green with no red in it at all.

it will not likely live longer on this earth then i physically will.
it is uncertain just how much longer then that,
anything resembling today's u.s. will either.

when i'm gone that won't be my problem.

there are things that i love though;
forests, little furry creatures,
and public transportation, running on some kind of rails,
and built to the smallest practical form factor,
propelled by the cleanest possible sources of energy.
computers, refrigeration and power tools,
and what this internet started out to be,
before it was discovered by the business of business.

 

Sitting with my feet up, catching up with some simple TV..peace perfect peace..

 

I'll be biting into a big fat juicy charcoal grilled burger with bacon, lettuce, onion and tomato on it right after I click [post] 1:50pm cst. Yummm!

I decided to host a family cook out today

I don't really like hosting but figured I should jump in and host something easy before I get stuck with something big like Christmas or Easter. My great aunt died a couple of years ago and she would always organize a big 4th of July picnic every year, and also did other holidays. Since she died we're trying to figure out new traditions

Anyways it was a success, food was a hit, people are gone now and I can finally relax. Hooray

my sister does all the family stuff here ...the close family get togethers..mostly because she has the best house for it ...havent had any lately because shes working too much this year

i did have good luck with it...i hung up on the imported retards and called back to get an english speaking one ....the one i got fixed it all up

 

Tired all day, and now that I wanted to go to sleep finally, I am wide awake....

I did not go to sleep last night. Stayed up all night looking at old photos and videos.....Started the day with a major headache not wanting to go anywhere, but went to neighbor's....and could it have been any hotter out there today?! Holy crap! I was dieing outside, as was everyone.....except the kids who had a pool to go into.

Food was plentiful.....clams, shrimp, steak, chicken, Italian Sausages with peppers an onions, hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob, green salad, my salad, brownies, cupcakes, humus, veggies to dip into the hummus....olives, chips and everything under the sun to drink there...i had flavored seltzer the entire time.......and that was just meal number one...They were making more stuff...another dinner for the second half....but we did not stay for that.....Had to take dogs.....before it got too dark at least one mile today.....

Good people...extended family......I feel at home with all of them....Little 7 year old girl told me I was her best friend and kept giving me hugs....awwwww...., and i had a very nice conversation with her 10 year old brother about pyramids, aliens, other dimensions. I forgot I was speaking with a child.....That kid is going places.....He is amazing...

Little Emmy Lou , who is not 4 yet, is so adorable.....

Well......now what?
