Wonder Woman

I am a sucker for super hero flicks. And I am mesmerized by the way the Marvel Universe ties in all their movies so closely together, despite being directed by different directors and studios. Wonder Woman is a DC comic heroine, and it's honestly been a long time since I saw a DC movie as I avoided Man of Steel and Batman Vs Superman.

This was a remarkably well put together film. And despite Wonder Woman being a feminist icon, DC did not pander to the political pressures of the social justice warriors who bitched and complained that she did not have armpit hair (source: http://mashable.com/2017/03/20/wonder-woman-armpits/#SraVCo4t1kqC). They were also complaining that she had a nice body without fat or stretch marks. Well newsflash losers: Super heros are supposed to have physically fit bodies as they are superhuman.

Anyway, it was a great film that recognized that people are very complex, and mankind cannot be controlled by just one force. It took place during WWI, and while it vilified the Germans and the Ottoman Empire, in the end, the villains were more complex than just the opposing forces who were on the losing side of WWI. And that's one great trait about this movie that I liked. It also took place during a time when women really did not have any place in politics and rule making, and while there were some feminist tropes that touched on that topic, it did not over-saturate the film with a girl power narrative that many fringe activists wanted it to be.

I recommend it.

 

It wasn't bad, though admittedly I relate more to male superheroes. But I think it's cool that there's a movie that doesn't give a shit what I relate to. On a side note I wish Shale was still around.

 

She looks like a real badass it might be fun

I also dont understand all this made up rhetoric about having a female heroin being something of a hurdle, The Hunger Games wasnt long ago and that was huge, Twilight too, those were huge, Bella was the main character


Its strengths were the Chemistry between the two leads, and Gadots comic timing and of course some of the action scenes

But it still had kind of a 2 dimensional villian, and I'm just over origin stories, over comic book movies for that matter

 

I haven't seen it but I'm not at all excited about it, and won't go out of my way to see it in theaters. I will gladly watch it if the public library decides to shelve it.

 

I was never a Wonder Woman fan, and I did not like Linda Carter ever. I heard Linda was a real cold hearted bitch in real life, also. I never like cold hearted bitches...anyway....and the character never drew me in, but that trailer you put here looks ok.....It could be interesting to see the new movie, I guess....New Wonder Woman looks ok.

 

Sorry, bro.....Mr. Nocked doesn't do Wonder Woman movies. I dig the super hero thing, but I refuse to patronize an obvious capitulation to feminazi lobbying that demanded their own hero. Reckon they deemed Super Man to be misogynist, eh? So we have a wonder woman rammed down our throats.

I wonder what some of her super powers are? Menstrual Blood that burns like acid? The ability to pee standing up? When she is PMS-ing does she go on a Super Villain-killing rampage? Can she bitch slap a bad guy into submission with her Double D titties?

BTW...she is almost certainly a dyke, right? they need to get her a female sidekick. A hot little dirty pixie lipstick lesbian, so viewers can see some hot girl on girl action. If this were in the movie I might be tempted to watch it. (Once it came to Netflix, that is.) Still wouldn't pay to see it in the theater.

Come on Chris. why would you not see it ? Feminists are against the film. She will be scantily clad, will run in boots and a bathing suit, Breasts Bouncing! Flies an invisible jet. Take you to her island which is full of amazon women. Every mans dream! She will tie you up, and have her way with you. she will deflect bullets from her wrist bands, never get pregnant and lose her figure. Her vag will never be a gaping hole that has been stretched out. She will never grow underarm hair and always be well groomed, even in her neither regions, hairless! Wonder girl will be right by her side to assist with all the men. Just image the porn parody that will be spawned from this.

Man those supposedly witty funny remarks in here are terribly stale and cliché.
That being said I don't like super hero themes. They were fun as a kid but now not so much anymore... (I enjoy the X men movies though. Never took notice of the comics btw)

About Wonder woman's suit, or that of a lot of other super heroes for that matter, they are ridicilous. Makes it even harder to take these movies seriously. Yeah yeah it is fantasy and good fun, no need to take it seriously. But superheroes, women or not, fighting in their underpants etc. or other kind of warriors combining armor with sexy half naked outfits is just hilarious at best. Most often just plain stupid.

 

Yeah, right.

And, yeah, we (and every other Flight School Class since Top Gun came out) DID try the "SLTLF" group sing in a club. And on several occasions. I admit it did not always succeed in getting any of us laid. But it did a couple times. LOL
