    When Batman was canceled, “The only thing I thought is that it would be the end of me, and it was for a bit,” he told an audience at Comic-Con in 2014. “But then I realized that what we created in the show … we created this zany, lovable world.

    “I look around and I see the adults — I see you grew up with me, and you believe in the adventure. I never believed this would happen, that I would be up here with illustrious people like yourselves. I’m so grateful! I’m the luckiest actor in the world, folks, to have you still hanging around.” ~ Hollywood Reporter

    Wws always surprised he didnt go on to be a bigger star, he certainly had a unique look and a distinctive voice

    The last time I saw this guys was on BigBagTheory and he was really odd. Now I seen the old batsman videos and they portray him as a weirdo in both batsman and the Simpsons and so after I watch Big Bang, was that guy just a space cadet or what?? Lol.

    Really though, Adam West was proof that in Hollywood, luck and being in the right place at the right time, and knowing the right people will trump real talent every time in terms of aiding your career chances. People talk about Clooney and Keaton as shitty batmans, but I think they were both better than West.

    You know he is bad when even when you're a little kid you realize that the dude playing your Batman couldn't act his way out of a paper bag.

    Oops...did I just speak ill of the dead?

    Adam West had a B.S. in literature with a minor in psychology.
    He was a veteran who served as an announcer for the Armed Forces Network.


    The Batman TV show was, "the biggest TV phenomenon of the mid-1960s".[13

    There's this English joke about Batman busting out of the wardrobe when your having sex. I used to like the show, but that will always be my abiding memory.

    He was my favorite Batman, I never really got into any superhero movies but I remember watching this show every day a kid. I love the cheesse factor of it

    Adam West was a character actor who; just like Shatner, played his character well
    He was absolutely suited to the 1960's whacky, colourful, psychedelic goings on at the moment in time - it was innocent fun and his 'overly'-straight laced performance to the TV programme was just what the viewer/s (WW) wanted - Looking at the actor/actress 'villains' that played opposite him, (along with the Cameos of those building walks) showed that his peers - appreciated (some might say cashing in on his popularity) on his Legendary TV status = Now secured

    I loved the show as a kid. Just thinking about the shark repellant scene from the original movie still makes me laugh. It doesn't get any cheesier than that.

    My sister bought both her Great Dane's from Burt Ward. He lives about 20 minutes away from me.
