I dunno how I'm dying or when just yet but hopefully I'll be on my back with a grin uttering something along the lines of "they got as good as they gave".

 

I served in 7th Cavalry back in the 1980's (and 5th Cav, and 12th Cav, and 509th Infantry....).

I had to carry the squadron colors on a couple of squadron runs. Hanging from the top of the staff are about two dozen campaign streamers. The first time I saw the "Battle of Little Bighorn" streamer it gave me the creeps.

Fun fact - 7th Cavalry wasn't wiped out at Little Bighorn. More than half the regiment survived.
