What New Bank Holiday Would You Introduce ?

BANKS GIVES ME BAD VIBES EVERYTIME SOMEONE MENTIONS BANK OR BANKS I GET AN IMAGE OF THAT SLIMEY WAXEY DEMONIC ORRIBLE SMUGGY

. I WOULD HAVE A .. GIVE PEACE A CHANCE ONE ,

 

I know this is a UK thread but I think it applies to every country that has holidays. And I'm going with super bowl Sunday (to be observed on Monday to work off hangovers and depression if your team lost.

 

haha good shout ..........those hangovers seem to last longer .with age or maybe the days are getting shorter .

 

Music bank holiday.. no TV phones or internet, just music and family get togetherness..

Eat, drink and dance.. for one entire day..

if anything i would eliminate bank holidays. they're just normal days except a few important services (like banks, or mail delivery, or garbage pickup) are unavailable.

 

Well, a lot of people get a day off work...

Hence the great British tradition of taking MDMA on the preceding Friday.

 

I don't get the day off unless it's on a Thursday or Friday but I get 2 hours off a day all that week.

 

i suppose a lot of people do work in banks, post offices, and garbage trucks, but it's still a pretty small percentage of the population.

i don't know, maybe in the UK regular people get days off too.

 

TBH, I'm not sure I know anyone personally who goes to work on a bank holiday (except probably some NHS staff). Maybe it's a UK thing. (I also don't know any bankers, binmen or postmen.)

 

My Suggestion For A Bank Holiday Would Be To Stage A "Hip Forums Spermbank Holiday" Complete

With A BBQ.... Free Booze.... And Live Music.....Out Back In The HF Parking Lot And Paid For In

I'm a Yank, but my suggestion is Get Rid Of The Monarchy Day...you got to admit, they are some weird people.

 

They're something like living museum exhibits. A relic of the feudal system. A lot of people like them though - not much popular will to get rid of them.

 

JUNE 1 - teeth fixing day (UK dentists offer discounts to bad teeth Brits who could use a good jolt of lidocaine)

(don't even talk to me about NHS dentistry)

 

The Monarch is the Head of State but has virtually no executive power - mainly moral suasion and 65 years of smart, savvy political experience. If you abolish so-called 'Monarch's Day' you have to abolish President's Day. Are you willing to do that?

 

In a heartbeat, especially considering...well, you know.

 

A proper bank holiday.. spend but no charge.. the mind boggles!
