This video provides a demonstration of the power of using small, trainable, Ai circuitry such as the FPGA circuits Intel will be adding to virtually every cpu they produce sometime within the next year or two. A similar tiny, tiny, Ai circuitry that uses almost no power whatsoever has also been invented for use in cellphones. The computer itself is animating the character making it run, jump, and so on in a realistic manner, while someone drawing the lines is arbitrarily telling it which direction to move. Instead of the neural network having to reinvent the wheel every time, it can be supplied with the latest algorithms that allow it to rapidly figure out what to do and the best way to accomplish the task. That means if everybody playing video games has the same circuitry in their computer whoever challenges the game more pushing play to the bleeding edge will train their Ai to do a better job and that knowledge can be automatically shared with every computer or console people play the game on.

The researcher note the same technique can be extended to kicking and punching and so on. This is merely an early experiment with the technology which also has applications for dialogue and strategy, but this obvious early success gives some idea of what we can expect to see incorporated soon into movie animations and video games. This is merely what the tiny, low powered, circuitry can produce with something more powerful like a graphics card being capable of much more complex feats and combining the two should prove interesting to say the least. Already some have noted that the newer graphics cards coming out almost have a mind of their own and, within just a few years, it will become obvious that the newer computers coming out actually do.
