As far as I'm concerned, this belongs under the category of "Domestic Terrorism" and "The South is Gonna Rise Again!"

Republicans and the majority of Americans have blinded themselves to the simple fact that mob rule is not a democratic institution and appear to be totally confused at the outrage of democrats in this case while, for their part, democrats appear to be confused at the idea that the American people and republican party can no longer distinguish between mob rule and a democracy after they themselves helped to dismantle so much of our constitution and allowed money to do most of the driving. For once, its good to see their own crap thrown back in their faces in no uncertain terms, but I'm not holding my breath waiting to see them actually do anything to change the situation. Either democrats find their balls and start to collectively push for political reforms or this could merely end up as another case of the Hatfield's versus the McCoys, in which case, they are fighting a losing battle on the republican's own terms and the South will rise again only to eventually be decimated again when the shit hits the fan.

When Obama was re-elected I had to point out to several libertarians that, if the Tea Party actually defaulted on the budget, Obama would have no choice but to dismantle the party and send Homeland Security to round up the worst of them. When the drones start flying through their windows and blowing up in their faces they might, just maybe, get the idea that their right to bear arms no longer matters when it comes to fighting their own government. Of course, what never occurred to all these libertarians is that without a budget you have no government which means the gloves come off and its everybody for themselves, including the military-industrial complex ensuring that lowbrow slapstick doesn't interfere with business as usual.

I watched part of it. What I can gather is that "going nuclear" means that only 51 votes are required instead of 60? I'm not entirely sure I understand.

The fundamental assumption is that a democracy requires protections for minorities, not just race or religious minorities, but any kind of minority. Otherwise, why not just allow the majority to do whatever they want and just get rid of the constitution altogether. If the mindless mob don't like something, including any promises they might have made to minorities, mob rule means they can retract anything they want and do whatever the hell they want on the spur of the moment such as lynching people. Of course, the problem with that is nobody would ever take anything they say seriously and nobody would ever trust them for anything making it difficult for anyone to get any business done.

Over the last twenty years or so congress, the courts, and the president have systematically taken away many of our fundamental constitutional rights. First gerrymandering the voting system to death so it no longer represents the majority, then stripping away our rights to things like requiring a warrant for wiretaps and searches, and granting the president the power of God to declare war on anybody or torture and kill anyone without even having to inform congress. Which was all fine and dandy with congress and the majority of Americans until their own crap started coming back in the face. Riots in the streets and whatnot were all contingencies that congress had prepared for by authorizing the military to round up citizens like so many cattle and making all the necessary preparations, but republicans deciding congress itself and the courts be run by mob rule and threats to bankrupt the government was taking it a bit too far for democrats who, supposedly, represent minority opinions and, in reality, represent anyone with money who understands that mob rule is not the way to do business.

In fact, that's how the Sicilians invented the Mafia. When nobody else could get any business done and the courts only delivered the best justice that money could buy, organized crime became more appealing as an alternative, as well as, more respectable for at least being honest about who they were and the methods they used.

    We Elected Donald Duck

If you can't dazzle em with brilliance, baffle em with so much bullshit they all cry uncle,
Americans aren't famous for quality products at low prices,
But for marketing, Hollywood, and a line of crap a mile long.
Comedians all complain they have too much material and can't compete with reality,
Even Professional Wrestling just can't keep up with all of this action,
And reality TV is nothing more than poorly scripted state of the nation.
We elected Donald Duck because it was illegal to vote for Mickey in the state of Maryland,
Too many have been blinded by the light, standing like a statue in the headlights,
While congress authorizes the military to round up people like cattle.

Incrementalism is a process whereby society is slowly engineered and our rights and freedoms are slowly eroded over time so that we don't notice it's happening and are led to believe change is necessary on only one item and this change is not related to other changes. In the short term the changes are almost imperceptible, but are nevertheless part of a long term campaign to gain control of us all. It is thus a strategy of coercion. This can be observed in every method of control listed and most visibly in education, religion and culture.

    Read all the tactics http://www.globalistagenda.org/keytactics.htm

I noticed it was happening, the 1990s era of "zero tolerance" and all the show ID bullshit for cigarettes and beer got off the ground but today young people just think our show ID society is 'normal'. Older people here might remember when driver license's had no picture at all till the mid 80s in a lot of places. How can that be the younger people ask no photo IDs ? That's the way it was and the world worked fine.

    Look at this,

    Incrementalism in action.

There's nothing incremental about the last half century of American politics which merely represent the usual swing of the pendulum. Like ancient Rome before us, the US has become an empire overnight where a mere 4.5% of the world's population are, nonetheless, the third most populous country in the world that routinely collects half the Nobel Prizes and Olympic gold medals and has a military equal to the next six largest combined and is, at least, twenty years ahead in technology. The pentagon alone spends more money than most entire countries make with AI and robotics about to tame the entire planet and the computers now deciding what is a sound investment and exactly how to respond to anything. Like Rome which was a widely respected democracy, our own success has been our downfall because money will always take on a life of its own.

Times are much better and much easier than ever before. Just take a look around. Not many things frowned upon these days. When society and the local governments cater to a person waking up deciding he or she are no longer the gender they were born as then things are getting better right? Lol! And people are still whining? As the old saying goes, give them an inch and they want a mile.

The 1% now own the entire country and wages have not increased since the turn of the century, while the entire system has been gerrymandered to death, our constitutional rights suspended indefinitely, congress has authorized the military to round up citizens like cattle and made all the necessary preparations, and the courts are now compelling people to testify against themselves. If that's better, I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.

As usually occurs in any democracy, we have had to sell everything we own in order to make social progress and, after paying through the nose, the devil now wants to reverse all the social progress and start all over again because, of course, what he really wants is our souls.
