What about that girl that won British X factor a couple years back Havent heard a singer like that in donkeys years. But she didnt seem to get anywhere after that Oh, a quick check, Louisa johnson, won in 2015, her debut album only came out tbis montb apparently????
Susan Boyle? I hate the X factor, but sometimes there are talented singers who comes through. It's a shame the whole thing is so fucking pedestrian though. I'm quite a fan of Tessa Belifante who won The Voice in Holland a few years ago. She can sing like Alanis Morrisette https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuuus0y7sSI
Shit, this has 100 million views, why the hell hasnt she put an album out yet? http://youtu.be/dc-nyGo0aC8
Didn't read the previous posts. What is this 'Music 2017' you speak of? Some new kind of kitchen device?
Fucking love this new Feist song! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC6CmAKNhl4 And the bit with Jarvis Cocker at the end. She's America's PJ Harvey. Check out some of her older stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh7NcYILxRs
What I say. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBpMXuzHR3I Katie Cutchfield started Waxahatchee with her debut album American Weekend, a collection of lovely grassroots acoustic tracks. Now she's in a full blown band with her twin sister Allison, a bit like the The Breeders. Lot's of Throwing Muses in there as well, I could listen to her oohing all day long. A very uplifting song and you can stream album on NPR now, I recommend it and all her/their previous albums. Waxahatchee rules. Torres is also back with a somewhat deep and enigmatic new song. Doing St Vincent better than Annie Clarke can do these days I reckon. I think they'd make good scissor sisters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=608BLWdT_OI "I got hard in your car, in the park by the masonic lodge"
Nice to see another fan of Kathleen's on here. I've loved her since the days of Bikini Kill. Anyway, Julie Ruin's Hit Reset album has been nothing short of amazing. I'll Decide Mr. So and So Roses More Than Water Time is Up All fantastic songs!
I like the new Lana Del Rey "Lust For Life". Did not think as highly of her before I listened to this. Here is one of the tracks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGXHjiaXaio
Susanne Sundfør was back this year, but I've not heard her new stuff. This is from a couple of years ago, more synth pop/rock than her new stuff I think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDkO0LuMU08
Don't really think much of the new ST Vincent stuff this year. I think it's time we had some new music from Ms Apple instead. She's my favourite. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uf1n1wUfxE
Also no new music from but a new discovery for me this year. Gwenno Saunders, former Pipette. Chwyldro is Welsh for revolution. For the Stereolab fans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSk8VJm2KJU
2017 also marks the return of the Deal sisters and some new materia from The Breeders. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i76b0OrdIQ
