Have you followed the case? Just curious. I thought this topic would have gotten buried in time.

It's been in the news alot here in Wisconsin.

IMHO This certainly rises to the level of adult prosecution

Boy, 14, charged in attack on homeless man seen on video

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Police have arrested a California teen in connection with a video that appears to show a boy attack homeless man

The video shows the boy holding a large object as he approaches a homeless man sitting against a wall.

The boy then swings the object at the man, striking him in the head.

    I missed it.

We're the attorney's annoyingly slow or did they seem pretty well organized and prepared for presentation/rebuttals?

14 isn't a little kid. he knew what he was doing. he may have been an idiot doing it, but just the same if he was 24.
no that one should not get a free pass for not being old enough to be served booze.

From a psychological standpoint, children or teenagers who kill is a grey area. It may be that it was a one time killing or may be that it was the first of many killings. That is why children and teenagers need to be psychologically evaluated first to determine whether the killings would or would not have continued if the authorities had not intervened.

i don't think most people any more understand the one good and logical reason to have laws and prisons,
and that is to prevent someone who has committed a serioius and willful act of harm,
from having the opportunity to repeat it.

when the perp is really extremely young, and perhaps even anyway,
a long hard look at their parents or legal guardians is called for.

The prosecutor wasn't very aggressive and didn't put on much of a case. The defense attorney called more witnesses and was a lot more assertive.
