Giving Obama power to do what he wants without congressional approval seemed like such a good idea, until a republican got elected. Didn't it?

    LOL.....
I think it is more about giving an educated, articulate, intelligent person congressional approval as opposed to giving it to narcissistic, megalomaniac moron who can barely read beyond a fourth grade level...LOL
you really are hanging on to bullshit ideas aren't you......LOL

as I have said before, you are only embarrassing yourself with these remarks, you really aren't that fucking stupid, are ya?

What's stupid about my statement? What's bullshit about it? It seems like a good idea to give endless executive authority to the ones you like. But the people who come next, like Trump, are a good reason not to.

The number of executive actions issued by Obama are relatively low compared to other modern presidents. Whereas at the rate Trump is going, he is on trackt o have a large number compared to other modern presidents. I'm not sure what you mean by "giving endless executive authority" to Obama as presidents have always had the authority to issue executive orders

Meli's link shows us that in the early days of the USA, executive orders were very rare. The curculture of the country nowadays just accepts the executive power to make all the right decisions. The founding fathers never intended to authorize a president with that much power.

Executive orders were certainly used early on in our history, starting with George Washinton. Notable executive orders of the nineteenth century include Jefferson's Louisiana purchase in 1803, Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation and suspension of habeas corpus-- eclipsing anything Obama has done. Republican President Nixon created EPA by executive order.ngton.Reagan imposed OMB review and Regulatory Impact Analysis for all federal regulations, slowing down or killing regulations made under the authority of Congress. His successor, Bush '41, required that they go past Vice President Quayle's Competitiveness Council. Obama issued 276 executive orders, compared with 291 for G.W. Bush, 381 for Reagan, 346 for Nixon, 522 for Harding, 968 for Hoover, 1081 for Teddy Roosevelt, and 1205 for (would you believe) Coolidge . Besides Obama, all of the other Presidents I just listed were Republican. Most of the squawkinging about them has come from present-day Republicans, hypocrites that they are. Obama's orders were a function of Congress' paralysis, which resulted from the Republicans' agreement on day one to obstruct everything he did so he would fail as a President. Some of us would prefer some worthwhile policy action nstead of none, and executive orders are circumscribed by the Constitution. Competitive as always, the Donald seems determined to outdo Obama on executive orders and golf games, while continuing to complain about both.

In addition to that, and perhaps more importantly, the chocolate cake at Trump Towers in Istanbul is said to be the best in the world.

No doubt Trump will face a crisis similar to 911 and will fail blaming it on the Obama administration

    Another Trump supporter goes nuts,....

A Shrewsbury man is facing charges after he allegedly tried to kick his way into the Alhuda Academy, an Islamic school in Worcester, early Tuesday, officials said.

Andrew Burke, 30, was captured on surveillance footage kicking at the glass door to the Islamic center at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, Worcester police said in a statement. But he failed to break through and after several unsuccessful attempts apparently left the area, police said.
