Who's that knocking on my door?

Woody Woodpecker was this morning and loudly. He was beautiful....and I watched him, but dared not move to go get the camera to take my own photo, so this photo is from the web. The one I saw had a red head so large that it looked like an apple sitting on his head.

 

took this myself....in my front yard

her cubs were just out of view about ten feet towards where she was going...up in a small tree

A stray Black Shouldered Kite came to visit after a violent storm.

It was a dry summer up in the Warrumbungles. The wallabies were more interested in drinking water than anything else.
A week later, as I returned to this car park, there was a short downpour of heavy rain. Kangaroos and wallabies soon crowded the wet bitumen road, drinking the water gathered in the shallows. Almost impossible to drive through. They were too thirsty to care about motor vehicles.
