This past year I've been to many theme parks (Six Flags, Busch Gardens, Cedar Point etc.) and went on many of the rides particularly the inverted/floorless coasters (feet dangling). I noticed that some people would simply remove their shoes and ride in bare feet. At first when i realized it, I didnt think much of it until I went to a theme park with my friend on a class trip about two years ago. She was wearing flip flops and we were about to go on a ride which was an inverted coaster. Like I expected, she took her flip flops off and rode the ride barefoot. I asked her about it and I exepected her to say something like "oh i just don't want to lose my shoes or have then fall off." But what she actually said surprised me. She said (to the best of my memory) "I just like to ride these rides barefoot because it just feels better." Previously, I never thought that there was a difference in terms of ride experience and asked her what the difference was. She then explained to me that she likes to feel the wind on her feet and that you couldn't get that feeling wearing shoes and even suggested to me that I try it as well. Initially, I just shook it off but toward the end of the day, we were going to ride that same ride again and I decided "f*ck it I'll ride barefoot" (BTW I had to go through the line in bare feet as I left my shoes in the locker). My friend and I waited in line and when the time finally came, we both sat in the first row and rode the ride barefoot. As far as the ride experience was, she was actually right. During that first drop, I felt the wind on my feet and between my toes and it felt great just like she said. And to this day, that is why I only ride inverts barefoot. Has anyone else had the same experience from riding roller coasters barefoot? If so, please tell me below I would definitely like to hear your story.

Yes, I spent the day at an exhibition park with many rides with bare feet one time and rode the roller coasters there bare foot. Also went on the big ferris wheel, the sky ride above the park and other rides in my bare feet. I received many quizzical looks that day and comments and a few people down below the sky ride on the ground were looking up and pointing at the bottoms of feet which of course, were coal black. I also enjoyed the warm air on my feet while on the rides.

I once lived an hour from Cedar Point, that was always one of my traditional summer visits. I'm not much of a coaster fan, but there were water rides that I would always go barefoot on located over in Frontier Town. This area has always been my favorite section of the park due to the fact the staff overlooks patrons going barefoot. The giant swings were nice as it felt great going around and around with the wind blowing against your feet.

Go outside this area and you hear a recording saying shoes and shirts are required beyond this point.

I am always barefoot.i have been going barefoot for over 20 years.i just don't like shoes.going on rides definitely feels great in between your toes!I'm always trying to get my husband to take off his socks(he's wears socks, all day and even in bed)just for his feet to breathe.so I am definitely all for the barefoot experience,no matter what it is. Even if a sign says shoes are required;)

Did you ever go to Silverwood Theme Park? Because that's where I work.

Although I don't visit theme parks anymore, in my younger years, I did used to frequent Alton Towers during summer months. On rides where the legs dangled, such as Nemesis and Air, to ensure that they weren't lost while riding, I always removed my flip flops, proceeding to board the attractions in my bare feet.

As soon as the rides commenced, the rushing of air against the insteps and in between the toes always felt incredibly enjoyable, noticeably more so when riding in either front or back row.

That said, I wasn't the only one riding barefoot, since I can recall many others choosing to remove their footwear before boarding either ride.

Yes, I have a story to share. One night, when it was getting closer to the New Year last year, I thought I would start a New Year’s Resolution to go barefoot at home whenever I can. That night, I tried it, and it felt great. After doing that for a while, during the quarantine days, I thought to myself, “When I am home alone next, which will probably not be until a vaccine comes out, I am going to dance in the grass in my bare feet to celebrate.” But then, on May 1st, I tried going barefoot in the grass, which I now say a term for, which is “grounding”, and it felt great. I did that whenever I was home alone. Then, later in the amusement park season, my barefoot adventures evolved to me doing it on inverted coasters and flat rides. I kept saying I was gonna ride Revolution at Dorney Park in my bare feet. Then, after thinking about riding specifically that barefoot, I said, “What the heck, I’ll do it on all the inverted rides!” So then when my friend Iby and I were at Dorney Park on August 7th, 2020 and about to get on our first ride of the day on Talon, before getting on, I removed both my shoes and socks and rode Talon in bare feet, and it felt AMAZING! I did it on all the inverted rides that day and throughout the rest of the season. To this day, that is why I only rides inverted rides and coasters barefoot.
