Chelsea Manning's Sentence Commuted

President Obama decided to commute her sentence.


Under the terms of Mr. Obama’s commutation announced by the White House on Tuesday, Ms. Manning is set to be freed on May 17 of this year, rather than in 2045.

Interesting to weigh the cheers for the Chelsea commutation, with the anguish over the Kremlin hack & exposure of Mr. John Podesta's e-mail account.

Transparency is in the eyes of the beholder.

 

I wonder if coming out as a tranny had anything to do with Obama's pardoning, since being a member of a marginalized group plays into the sympathies of half the country.
It's totally OK to set free Chelsey Manning because he exposed George W Bush. But no such luck for Edward Snowden for exposing Barack Obama and the DNC.

 

...or if he did it to thumb his nose at the other half of the country.

 

I donot agree with this decision of Obama's...but oh, well, it was not my decision to make.

 

Seems not his style.

 

Maybe after (what was it? 6 years in) prison then Snowden would be released too. Although the stuff they released is different.
I wouldn't expect trump to do any favors for anyone though.
