In addition, I say we let all socialists and Bernie bums take a study abroad course in Caracas to live amongst the socialists who live there and study how a real socialist paradise works. In the course, they learn how to hunt for seagulls, pigeons, and sewer rats to survive the mass artificial food shortages set in place by Maduro and Chavez. And understand how a real breadline works.
I just see the privileged and born to privilege at the huge banquet table stuffing themselves sick and fat.....and the rest are scurrying around the floor fighting among themselves for any crumbs that drop from the table. Isn't that the way it is for much of the world?
It's not a privilege reserved for 'commies' indeed. GayCharlie is obviously trying to ruffle some feathers. It's not like Sanders' socialism is mainly inspired by Venezuela, Cuba or North Korea
I wish more people could see nuanced shades of grey A successful free market economy and a strong social safety net CAN exist in the same country just like a country with both can exist in the same world as failed socialist economies like Venezuela and communist, authoritarian regimes like North Korea.
Its illegal to vote for Mickey Mouse in the state of Maryland which is why Donald Duck is in office. I'd rather a president who ate kittens than one who gropes women, threatens to kill millions by trashing Obamacare, and couldn't find his own ass with both hands.
Please feel free to interpret anything I say anyway you want but, if you do, I'll just ignore any posts you make.
Ok. So I will not say "we agree that Bernie Sanders eats kittens", because the spirit of peaceful coexistence is more important
Bernie is too old to eat kittens, sensitive stomach. Maybe mice or gerbils or whatever. Politicians will eat anything they can catch.
But aren't socialist societies designed to prevent that very thing from happening? People on HF were praising Chavez like a hero 7 years ago when I joined.
The world has had several millenia to get its shit together without any sign of it so doing. Is there really any reason to believe it'll change any time soon? Better to worry about things one can actually control or at least affect in some positive way, rather than worrying about the whole panoply of endless suffering.
No relation. Hippies often won't tolerate five Bobs running around. Pattern matching rules the universe which is just another way of saying yin-yang dynamics apply and reality is self-assembling or organic and never quite what you think it is. The law of identity goes down the nearest convenient rabbit hole or toilet explaining things like quantum mechanics and fuzzy logic. Nature is fundamentally analog which becomes synonymous with creative as well as destructive. The truth itself is self-organizing and alive and growing revealing itself to humanity in a progressive manner. You could say humanity is part of the puzzle of life and is self-assembling producing emergent effects on our adventurous way to the top. Periodically new revelations are thrust upon us whether we were looking for enlightenment or not and all of humanity changes for the better, such as, the invention of agriculture. What's coming next is a Theory of Everything that will blow everybody's mind and bring about what some of us call "Childhood's End". The revelation the earth is round is merely one example of what we had to learn first before getting the entire package. Being self-organizing you can also call it an emergent effect and nature can be described as God playing pee-a-boo. Like puberty, some things must happen in their own time including humanity finding out what it really means to be human. Just as we are on the brink of destruction a new revelation is upon us that doesn't require anything and fits the physical data. Estimates by famous scientists around the world are that, without accounting for a singularity, the rapid progress of the science will slow to a crawl within three hundred years and it will require a few thousand more before it is all applied and humanity can produce a utopia.
i somehow fail to grasp how 'chaos' is supposed to be worse then killing people and destroying the planet. nor how the 'chaos' in central and south america, was created by anything other then the demands of american and international greed
Examining the artificial shortages created by the government of Chavez and Maduro would be a good start. The people of Venezuela don't even have enough toilet paper due to price controls. To make matters worse, the even have a shortage of paper to print passports so the citizens can legally flee the country. And this is all happening in the most oil rich nation in Latin America. Let that sink in.
