I developed a pretty bad case of Jock Itch while cutting wood this fall because the jeans I was wearing rubbed on my upper thigh and crotch. I have used Desenex, going nude, and white vinegar, and it has helped but it still is present.... Any ideas?
tinactin or clortrimazole cream since fall is a long time...could be something else that needs a doctor visit
never had it, but clotrimazole cream should work. you can get it otc at any pharmacy. just make sure to use it for 1-2 weeks after symptoms disappear, or else it may come back.
You went nude while chopping wood? Free circumcision? (I'm a little suspicious, 'puter says all posts in this thread made today, buuuuuut, I dont think they were all made today)
LOL No, i went nude in the house afterwards to keep the area dry. I went out to split wood this morning, it is 26 degrees here, and within an hour my crotch was sweating again. This sucks. I have trees to fall for next winter, and about a whole Walnut tree rounds to split. I guess I can work for about an hour or two, and then have to quit to dry off!
its has nothing to do with feet...ive never had it on my feet and id firmly say that yes you can get it outdoors...i got a bad case once after swimming in a stagnant lake
talc powder, keep it dry and let it breathe to open air a little more often. keep it clean, wash with warm soap and water at the end of the day and make sure it is dried off
it is pretty common especially for athletes.....sweating then rubbing against the uniform or clothes.....one thing that helps are the "tights/girdles" they act as a barrier between the skin and clothing....Under Armour or Nike make good one's
If really bad consider visiting your doctor and getting a prescription for ketaconazole (sp?) - it works. Period. Stops it in its tracks, but must reapply a few times to kill the spores. Also, new underwear... ditch the old stuff and get some new. Bleaching them might work, but really, get some new underwear. It really helps to keep clean
the tights work well....especially if you are athlete and you run a lot they wick the sweat away from the skin and are a barrier from the uniform
