    My first real post

After becoming chronicly aware of my low self esteem after gaining some weight in my late teens. (I'd never had these feelings before this [I'm a 23 yo m]) I decided to take up bedroom nudism as I heard it was great for body issues. It's worked wonders, I'm happier feel better and the weight is coming off, but I'm still confined to my room when naked as money's tight and can't move from my parents just yet.

What's the next step? can I share with friends? What's a good way to start socialising naked?

Any advice, stories, anecdotes or kind words would be a great help.

Sounds like you want to go to a nudist/naturist club. They're generally into nudity not being sexuality and into body acceptance. It's basically come as you are. And be who you are.

i was finally at that place where i was comfortable with myself and i was planning on going to gunnison that summer. then i lost my job and had to move away to delmarva, close to assateague but not an official nude beach. i did get to go to gunnison last year while visiting family back home in nj.

If you feel ready to widen your naturist experiences then you are probably right to do so, but only you can know this for sure.

Like you I enjoyed being nude at home, which started before I was old enough to drive, but once I could then that was what allowed me to expand my nakedness and ensuing adventures and trips.

I appreciate your situation means this perhaps isn't possible due to money, so that is a pain, but I am sure there are solutions if you think differently about the problem and how to address it.

Telling a friend could well be a solution, but make sure you really trust the person and bring the topic up carefully as not everyone is tolerant or understanding. An idea might be to try an engineer a skinny dip somewhere as people are more likely to see that as a bit of fun and less likely to be offended or embarrassed.

If that goes well then try and extend it proper naturist settings, such as a club or beach or the friends house if that is better suited.

Picking the right person/people is the key, as I had a bad experience from quite a few years ago. There was a woman at work that I got on extremely well with (nothing romantic or sexual in anyway, we were just great friends), anyway by this time in my life I was a keen nudist and life model and had posed for a professional photographer for a naked photo shoot and had long taken my own nude photos.

I don't know how the conversation really ever came up, but it became clear she wanted to pose for some nude photos for a key birthday, you know, one ending with a zero!

The conversation came up several times over a four or five month period in the run up to her fortieth (I was about 22), with her becoming increasingly keen on the idea, so given our friendship and given what she was planning to do I thought why not tell her I had posed nude for a photographer.

So one night at the pub when the conversation next came up I told her! She seemed a little surprised and then couldn't understand why I hadn't told her sooner. We chatted for hours about my experience and what I thought and felt about it and the photographer I used.

After work the following day we went out again and chatted some more, which made me feel even more comfortable in talking with her and she was becoming even keener on the idea and was very positive about the whole thing and loved the fact I had done it, so much so I told her I was an artists life model as well, which she took in her stride and asked lots of questions about how I started and where I do it and for whom etc. I also told her I take my own nude photos as well which was also well received and didn't faze her either.

At the end of the evening she asked if I would mind showing her photos, she said she was embarrassed to ask and completely understood why I would say no. I wasn't fully comfortable with the idea, but that was just an initial fleeting thought, as given our conversations and how enthusiastic she had been and understanding of what I do, it would have almost seemed odd to refuse.

We agreed she would come home with me after work on Friday and we would have a takeaway and a look, which we did. She was very complimentary about the photos, said a few nice things about me and she loved how confident I was and so on and said she was definitely going ahead.

So all good I thought and I was actually pleased to she this with someone from my day to day life. This proved very short lived as she told people at work all about it!
