I think we all sort of understand this on some level but are powerless to stop.

In the US news is cheap thrills and voyeurism often along the lines of professional wrestling and reality TV because we reinvented materialism and terms like yellow journalism. Forget about the news being bad for your health, when the fact remains that a consistent majority of the population insists the government and mass media they call evil lie to them for their own protection despite their approval rating of congress dipping down as low as seven percent. Its Three Stooges see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil slapstick where the talking heads argue over the definition of stupid and who is the better example because nobody really wants to know the truth and nobody really wants to know just how far its gone. Its empire baby, and this train ain't stopping until she derails when money does all the driving like so many cattle eagerly following one another into the slaughterhouse or right over the nearest cliff. Within twenty years commercial fishing is estimated to no longer be possible because there just won't be enough wild fish left in the oceans, within fifty ever wild land animal larger than a dog will become extinct or only exist in zoos, while the mindless zombies cheer for their favorite gladiators and drink lite beer and anyplace they call paradise you can kiss goodbye along with the rest of the planet!

Until then, eat, stink, and be merry for tomorrow we die!
