Sega Genesis

So, I'm planning to get me a Sega Genesis console because I love old school video games.
What games do you guys recommend me to get for the Genesis besides Sonic, Castlevania Bloodlines, Contra Hard Corps and Rocket Knight Adventures?

 

Mortal Kombat

 

i never really liked the genesis system but i do remember when they were brand new and sears had some set up in the aisle for playing....spent many skipped classes playing altered beast and golden axe

Litteraly over half my time was spent with hockey games. EA 93 being the one that got the most time. Damn I may even dust it off and see if I still can get 100 goals in a game.

X-Men was a pretty cool game. The Road Rash series is great.

 

does anybody remember the car racing game where you could make your own track, and watch your crashes in slow motion? that was easily one of my favorite genesis games, and now i can't even remember what it was called to look it up online.

 

^ nevermind, it just came to me. race drivin'. the internet tells me it actually got pretty brutal reviews. which i get, i didn't like it because it was a quality game, i liked it because i could make ridiculous tracks and then watch replays of my most horrific crashes on them.

 

reminds me of excitebike, unless you were playing against someone else and comparing times that game sucked but it was fun making all crazy ramps to jump off of.

Alex Kidd and the enchanted castle was a really fun to play game if you knew how to play.

 

I wish Sega still made councils. The Genesis was the big boy system and the SNES was for kids. I know plenty of people love the SNES but they would not even allow blood in the first Mortal Kombat. With Genesis you could with a code but every kid knew the code.

This game was awesome but I sucked at it. But since it's an arcade port you are not supposed to win. It's supposed to be impossible so you spend quarters. With a light gun you fail with a D-pad you are never fast enough to shoot everyone.
