I would not be too concerned about the privacy implications here. These companies already know who you are. What's the big deal in letting a company that's owned by Google have full access to your Google account? They already have it...
Id like to see the same kind of thing ported to Grindr Not chasing down dumb little anime cartoon characters
Saw this on YouTube this morning. It's the first time I've heard of it since I don't play games on my phone. Basically the government already has access to your personal information via cell phones and internet. This is just one tool in the government's arsenal among many. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qrP7LJWx6k
Yesterday I saw about 10 people (and I'm not exaggerating) standing around looking at their phones, and I knew they must be playing Pokemon Go. I am like Pressed Rat. I do not play games on my phone.
I think it's going to cause a lot of problems and do a lot of good at the same time. A friend of mine with severe depression who never leaves his apartment went out to the nearest pokestop yesterday and made a bunch of new friends. He just texted me to see if I want to hang out soon and he hasn't done that in YEARS. Normally I text him and he says nahhhhh. The game getting him out of the house is clearly helping him a lot.
The government is asking people to stop playing it in Arlington Cemetery and Holocaust museums. All I play on my phone is solitaire chess.
I would like to try it out but I have no phone and it just seems like a shallow way to "catch 'em all". I mean, they don't let you have options for attacks or anything and from what I've heard you can't even battle the Pokémon. I much rather prefer to stick to the old games, at least that's way more fun than walking around and staring at your phone just to catch a Pokémon without any skills or tactics.
My cousin says he has a Pokemon Go Day Camp. He just stands in the back and yells for them to stop at intersections.
I'm actually shocked that nobody has posted a topic about this yet! This new smartphone app/game is quickly taking the world by storm. After only being out for a week, this FREE APP has increased Nintendo's net worth by about $11 BILLION. But even more than that, it's actually changing the way society and the people in it are functioning in their day-to-day lives. People who used to stay locked up in their houses all the time are now going outside and exploring the world around them, getting exercise and meeting new people with a similar interest. I think it's nothing short of phenomenal, and I only wish I could be a part of it directly by playing the game myself. But sadly, I do not own a smartphone and can't likely afford one anytime soon... Which really sucks because I freaking love Pokémon! What do you guys think about Pokémon Go? Do any of you have the app yourselves?
