Look up pony scrub hats. When braids or loose buns need to be off the table, a scrub cap keeps the hair contained so that it isn't a giant snarl come morning. A slippery pillowcase is great if you wear it down, but my hair gets under me, my partner, the books on the floor, tangled in the charging cords... It needs restraint.
A half-assed bun or ponytail, but that's only because I never sleep on my back. If I did I think it would drive me insane.
I sleep loose but I have a silky pillow that doesn't cause friction so my nonsensical tossing and turning during my tired periods doesn't really entangle or pull hairs and break them like a cotton pillow case. Instead it my hair glides over it. Mind you i didn't read the thread so I don't exactly know what the problem was or is to begin with but there ya go in case you're waking up with broken hair, try a silky pillow case. Downside is it's cold to touch always so in winter, can be cold on the face but it summer it's a treat.
Mine was a mis delivery from Dharma Trading many years ago. I ordered a hat. I got a silk pillowcase.
I leave my hair down and strangely it never gets tangled or matted. I have very soft fine hair, past my shoulders.
I use to get tangled a lot like I'd wash and brush and then within minutes I needed to brush again. I think I started taking a syrup orally like a hair, skin and nails compound. It was like raspberry actually I still have a little bit in the fridge. Anyway this supplement I can say actually worked for me and my hair is now much more shinier and much less prone to tangle and knot. I can brush and run my hand through hours later with little breakage or fallouts. Of course my partner with the super long hair has no such dramas and I figure she doesn't even need supplements she just has super black long shiny healthy hair with no effort. Kind of gives me the shits really.
I tend to put it in a loose pony tail and sometimes I leave it down when I have a headache because I deal with allergies since I live in a warm climate. I do usually brush it right before I go to bed or put this spray in my hair that called: It's a 10 It gets all the tangles out of my hair.
Checked it out on amazon..it seems to have pretty good reviews..so i am sought of tempted to actually try it out!
I just leave it down, although my hair is only about boob length. Not sure what you consider "long". Also, Ash, where have you gone?
Been too hot for a cap, so it's been living in braids. Some friction issues with the braid tassel. I'm getting sooooooo impatient for knee length. Here it looks like knee. But it's deceptive.
You are most welcome. It was more than a compliment..it was the truth. Very beautiful, keep up with the good work!
I just keep my hair down when I go to sleep, mostly because I'm too fucking lazy to work on my hair when I go to bed. Sure is a bitch having to brush it in the morning, though lol.
