Time to log out of Facebook for the year for a few days. No new year new me bullshit.

We went to my daughter's in-law's today and got lost twice while on the way. We've only been that way once and that was over a year ago.

Anyway, it was a nice time and I got some crocheted candy cane covers and a holiday door mat.

I'd never heard of candy cane covers before but they look like this:

A cold front disrupted summer here in the deep South yesterday. Overnight was cool — 13°C. Post-frontal cloud associated with the front completely cleared away by the middle of this morning. Now we're bathed in that gorgeous southern temperate light with not a cloud anywhere. By week's end it will be nudging 40°c — eck!! So for now, it's out of Polartecs and into budgie smugglers for a trip to the bewdy beach for a barbie. See ya!

 

I'm glad we aren't going to my sister-in-law's tomorrow.

I can't really do two days in a row of being nice to people.


I'm confused. It is Monday that we were to go watch the Rose Bowl at my sister-in-law's.

We've got to go to Walmart to buy a couple more space heaters and some foam board. We make covers for the a/c window units with foam board, held together with duct tape, so the wind doesn't blow in during the Winter. They fit like shoe box lids.

 

i just took my trash to the dumpster. in the dumpster, there were 30 empty popsicle boxes (20 packs) and what looked like enough empty wrappers and popsicle sticks to account for all of them. i'm really curious what kind of parties my neighbors are having, and how i can get an invite.
