I've always trained my dogs in Arabic. It's a great language. I lived in Libya 1967 through 1969 and had two boxers. They only knew Arabic commands. They were English boxers but prefered Arabic.

My grandfather lived in Jordan for a few years and then various other places in the middle east I the 50s and 60s I believe. He kept dogs there and they all were trained in arabic and when he came home he just kept doing it. I always thought it was really cool.

He was a spy, although he can't have been doing anything too bad because our family still gets cards from the Jordan royal family every year.

I think everyone was a spy in the 50s and 60s. The Middle East was sooooo cool back then. I spent summers on the beach in Lebanon and Libya. I sailed all over the Med and went to school in Malta, because the place where my folks lived had no English speaking schools. And my parents wanted me to have a western education. But, my Boxers were my best friends. I used to walk them down to the beach, about a mile from our Italian made villa. My last dog was a Catahula Hound. He traveled with me through all 48 lower states (Not Alaska) and we made it into Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, Manitoba (Summer Olymipics in Winipeg, and BC (Abotsford, Langly, Richmond, Vancouver, Surry, & others. His name was BOBO and he passed on last January at the age of 14. He was so smart that he could recognise my daughter when I put the cell phone on speaker. If I ever said we're going home, he would go and jump into the truck. He liked ice cream and would steal mine all the time.

I had a couple of pictures of her from the postcards they sent us that I pasted to my mirror in my bedroom as a kid. I remember one really vividly of her in a bright blue dress that I stuck right in the corner. As a very young kid I was so amazed by this queen and felt so special that her family was sending these cards to us. She was a huge inspiration to me growing up. She is an amazing woman!

I’ve been wanting to take a class but just no time right now. I have friends who speak it fluently as it’s their native language and I learn things here and there. It is beautiful.
