Gave some info with the spoiler here...

I won't try to give too much away but basically it's about a group of astronauts that recover a Man from Mars, who has human lineage but been separated by generations and so has grown up Martian.

A lot of the story up to this point has to do with assimilating him to Earth customs and culture, but there is kind of an unintended reciprocal effect, where many of the people he interacts with start analyzing the barriers, limitations, and concepts they take for granted when it comes to : language, politics, religion, metaphysics, affection.

I think if made into a movie these days, some of the social dynamics and technology might need to be updated, but as of yet, as long as they didn't go overboard, I don't think it would significantly change the story.

I've been wanting to read Girl on a Train, because I've heard it's better than the movie. Most books are better than their movie adaptations, imo. The movie was interesting, but there seemed to be holes in the plot where the book probably fills in, because it doesn't have the time constraints of a film.

I would love a new version of Jack reacher that actually sticks to what the character looks like. Tom cruise was all wrong for that part

See Me by Nicholas Sparks with Selena Gomez as the lead role Maria Sanchez cuz shes a Latina too. Also Selena is in her Latin Pop era now that her Spanish Album is releasing in March and new single Baila Conmigo out Jan 29 so landing Latina roles kinda seems fitting.

Its fun reading through the old posts and seeing just how many of the books HAVE been turned into movies! I just finished Andy Weir's new book Project Hail Mary. He wrote The Martian, which was an excellent book that was turned into an excellent movie (the one with Matt Damon). His style of writing seems to lend his books very well to movie adaptations
