My Knife Grinder caught Fire [IMG] See how nice and clean it was ? Had to put it out with a dry powder extinguisher ( they make a mess )
Not the first time this has happened the knives are carbon steel and the resulting grinding dust is highly inflammable imagine a firework
    or sparkler
no damage done though and its working again !! took me all day to clean it up though
The dry powder mixed with cutting coolant makes a substance with the consistency of Snot ( i found out )

how come more of you guys are not contributing to this thread ??? or has wizardos tree topping picture trumped you all
I will be interested in what you all do [IMG]

I don't have any pictures but what I do each day is go to volunteer at an office where I am the office assistant. As the office assistant I file things, am always asking questions about different things, I put the bills into our accounting system, so that things get paid on time and make sure everything is categorized how it's supposed to be with the software. That's about it. The bills are a multi-step process. First I have to stamp them with the date and fill in some lines from the stamp that want account codes and classes. Once they're coded and classed they can be put into the computer. It's important that they are put in with the correct date, which is the date the bill was created or printed. It's equally important that they be given the correct reference number. This is usually the invoice number on the bill. Sometimes a bill doesn't have one though, so you get to be creative and make one up. In the interest of consistency we do the same thing for every bill that doesn't have an invoice number. We also make a memo that tells what the bill is for. It's rather simple but I enjoy it.

We also must print checks to pay the bills before they become due. This is easy. You put checks into the printer and hit print! Then I stuff envelopes with the checks that have been printed. This is a process that involves filling out remittance slips to be included with the check. Not all invoices provide remittance sections, so some of the checks just get stuffed by themselves. From there they are moistened, sealed, stamped, and put in the mail. Someone else takes the mail to the post office. After the checks are mailed the invoices are filed to prove we paid them. That's about it. Sounds boring but it's kind of cool if you ask me.

I am retired so no "work pics" but I do call up the thread to see what others have posted. I am caregiver to my 92 year old Dad. Not posting pictures of him here.

number one reason: i don't think about it when i'm at work. i like this thread, but when i'm not looking at it, i'm not thinking about taking pictures for it.

the pictures i do have i've already posted on work related sites. and while it's very unlikely that it would ever come up, i would hate for someone to do an image search on one of those and have it also turn up on hipforums.

all those glasses, does anyone there have 20/20 vision?

The oldest girl came out of glasses after wearing them for a few years. I asked the eye doctor why so many kids are wearing glasses now. He said it's video games. Seriously. He said when we were kids we used our eyes for more distance vision when playing outside and that kids now use more close vision with video games. Hopefully, some more of the kids will outgrow the need to wear the glasses.
