I'm still stunned. I've been to 3 of his concerts, great every one. Gosh, so many songs, can't even pick one. Not his, a good T-Rex song, a later performance at the Brit awards. He still looked so fine. No matter what he did or who with, he had such presence. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2MAFVgxlEQ I really liked his acting as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2uUswkkfnw RIP Mr. Bowie. You will be greatly missed.
I read the news today, oh boy.... Actually I heard about it when it was announced. How sad. A truly original artist who influenced the course of music. I really liked his early stuff. His last album is quite the piece of work. Seems like a tribute to his own mortality. Check out this video, Blackstar, from the new album with the same name. I like it better than the Lazarus video (and song). Looks like Major Tom is gone... R.I.P. David. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kszLwBaC4Sw
Love This version of Heroes ! He will live on I am Sure Through his Music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBiiFplMWls&feature=youtu.be
No disrespect to David Bowie from me. If you want to see what nut job televangelist Pat Robertson said his theory regarding Bowie's death is, click the link. It's only funny if you follow this guy and how he thinks. http://www.newslo.com/david-bowie/
What he said is kind of along the lines of what I would say if I were parodying Pat Robertson. Only my parody couldn't be as bizare.
lol I thought this was The Onion at first, probably the first irreverent humour site. I haven't seen this satire site before.
I quite enjoyed the look of total confusion on the reporters face in this. Keep in mind this was before the internet became a household thing. His insights are really interesting and he was correct in how it was going to change most everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiK7s_0tGsg
Jeremy Paxman is always condescending. But Bowie held his own. Poor Jeremy, he was so hoping to stump him. Notice how he kept mispronouncing his name even though Bowie corrected him. Thanks for posting this, good interview.
You quoted my post (making it two posts about his homosexuality) but apparently you did not read it. You must be either closeted and guilt ridden or you are just a homophobic bigot to even bring this up. But, David Bowie was not ashamed to come out when he did and for me acknowledging it on the day he died or any other day is not disrespectful. It is what it is.
An article about why DB was a hero to animal rights activists.... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/david-bowie-hero-animal-rights_56981672e4b0ce496423e20b
I miss Bowie... moonage daydream is in my soul this was him at his wanting to give https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaqMwE5NKaM *edit give what I was never sure...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v--IqqusnNQ I saw him live in Detroit. He was amazing live. Such presence, I couldn't even believe it. Doesn't really translate on the TV set, but he kind of stunned me. If ever there was a rock god.
Nothing like a live concert. He's also better in some than others, as are most musicians. They react to the crowd. The first one I went to I was on a crowded floor, we were like sardines, but it was a fantastic concert. Another one, I was in great seats, it was a more posh venue, I was lucky to get tickets from a friend in the industry, but it wasn't as exciting as the other concert. He was still great, he does have that presence, but he fed off the energy of the crowd that was lacking in this one. It was more of a polite crowd. lol
