I would say bring back the negative rep system only if everyone can see who thumbs down them or negative reps them,...not just 1 % of the population here.

Worked with PHPBB, BBpress, MyBB, and vBulletin, but not IP Board, so I don't know anything about their development team and the quality of their work with software updates.

Let's take out the thumbs up system, and only have a thumbs down system.

 

Site traffic seems to have died a bit since last upgrade.

Maybe something is putting people off

 

I did not like the rep system. If you want to agree or disagree with someone, do so openly.

Nah, not name and shame just be confident enough with your own opinions to agree or disagree with someone in public if it's something you feel strongly enough to be awarding a coloured dot.

 

It was open. No one could neg-rep without attaching one's "name".

There are so many mean-spirited idiots on this board now that I don't think I will continue if we don't have a better reputation system.

I never even think of that system anymore. i never initiated using it unless it was to give someone a pos rep...i would retaliate with a neg if someone gave me a neg for an opinion I expressed about something or just to be mean though...but I never neg repped anyone to start with,. yes, that you knew who was giving you a pos or neg rep....I meant the thumbs up or thumbs down thing that each post had....that was anonymous to most....but not to everyone....as expresed here..

 

Maybe the thumbs down would cure up the ass-gapers, the dick size dummies and the rest of the shit that shows up on the board. The sex stuff doesn't piss me off--I just wish one had to re-sign or something to get into it. I think that if it remains on the main forums, a few thumbs down would cut the threads off sooner. Anyhoo---thats MO.

To add: I see where many, many NEW people sign in and then are GONE a few minutes later, never to return. Could the ass-gapers,etc, have something to do with this. Perhaps many are turned off by these threads before they even get to see that there are some very serious
and interesting threads AND people on here?

 

idk, scratcho....I cannot speak for people and why they do what they do or their motives, but i do know some peoople can smile in your face so to speak and do a there there with one hand on you and then stab you with the other hand.....
I can always tell when someone is being genuinely kind or it is bull shit, too.

I think a name and shame system would be pretty neat tbh. Like not so much with reps but like, you cop a dick pic in a PM. Should be a name and shame option.
