That sounds like letting people pull you in different directions and letting it happen. Also, Krishnamurti is quoted as saying that the secret to his spirituality is that "I don't mind what happens." It looks like people or situations are pulling him around, but internally he's grounded and at peace through it all.
It's surrender. Instead of trying to control events you can yield and adapt to them. It's kind of like being in ocean surf. You can fight the waves or ride them.
