I bought this E S P ltd about a year ago for £200 its got Seymour Duncan humbuckers and black chrome hardware only plugged it in once to see if it worked , nice to play but I am more of a telecaster person !! although I would like to try a les paul junior
Some day I gotta take some photos.... LP junior or a Melody Maker... Great little toys. I used to have a '59 and a '65 Melody Maker, back when they were cheap. I have an Epiphone MM now with 2 P90's that survived the fire. (burned but functional) That thing rocks. The only thing I don't like about those ESP's is how they twisted the SG body shape.... It just turns me off. I have two EPI SG's now one burned, still rocks big time, and one I got to replace it.... Also my handmade named "solid" which is vaguely SG shaped that was charred. (picture earlier in this thread that probably doesn't show anymore) The SG is very comfortable for me.
My latest acquisition... Ludwig Accent CS ride toms, 70's Jap mahogany floor tom, 70's Rogers steel snare, Gibraltar heavy duty high-hat w/ Zildjan ZXT rock weight hats, Ludwig 10x5 snare mounted on the side 70's blue sparkle mahogany 22" kick drum, Rodgers or possibly Slingerland clone All bearing edges have been trued and profiled, making them a snap to tune. These drums sound like a million bucks! Now I need better cymbal$$$$$$ lol Note the 'hippie tape' I used for my damping pads, lol
Thanks. Those Japanese drum manufacturers back in the 70's were really pushing the envelope. They kind of forced some of the US manufacturers to step up and start using beefier hardware and heavier shells. It's like all those great Jap guitars from that era that were so kick ass. We didn't know how good we had it back then. To get quality like that these days costs buku bucks! Anyway, no more drum programming for me, from now on I make my own grooves!
