Doesn't matter what you play. Post some pics! Tell us about what you have.

This one is of me and my main guitar. I just took it from my profile because I don't want to go take pics right now. It's a custom built, one of a kind guitar built by a professional luthier. The body is made out of Locust that he cut from a fallen tree at the river near my house. The inlay is made from shells that he got from a lake near my house. It's lighter than a LP and you can play a 3 set night and usually not even have to tune up after a set (I do anyway just to be safe). I have numerous others but this is far and away my favorite.....at least until he makes my next one. :afro:

    What do you guys have?

Is that a flat top, or is it carved?

It's carved. This guy does incredible work and can perform near-miracles on repairs. And he doesn't charge as much as guys who don't do the quality work that he does. (If anyone is interested...I can put you in contact...I just had a friend fly from Portland to Iowa just to try out his guitars and put in a custom order) He makes pretty much anything with strings on it. My next one is already being built. It's a hollow body electric with the f-hole shaped as Maple leaves and then Maple leaves running up the neck for the inlay (I'm an arborist in my non-musician time)

And looking at that pic....the Peavey isn't mine (I'm a Fender guy) and I have no idea why I get that shitty mic stand half of the time. There are 3 or 4 brand new stands on the bus and that relic finds it's way on stage sometimes.

I used to teach guitar building... Built whatever I wanted to give the guys ideas to ponder over while I was teaching. Most of those are gone now though. That fire took 5 and severely damaged two of them.

    No replacing those now...

I'm not doing any gong work these days, been working more on guitar and vox.

I'll do more when I get a bigger gong... shooting for a 72"er :sunny:

I can verify that he is doing more than just working on guitar and vocals. Dude has chops! I've heard it.

This one still exists... This is an older photo, now the headstock is very charred and half the neck is carbonized. Still plays great and sounds as good as ever. I haven't even changed the strings since the fire.

I didn't name it "Solid" for nuthin' :2thumbsup:

Nice. Kind of looks like an SG a bit. Very interesting head on it too. What kind of pick-up is that?

    Edit...is that 3 pick-ups?

Thanks man... I'll get some better photos of it one of these days.

Anyways, this one is in a box... Burned bad, not recoverable. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it. You don't want to see an after photo.

    and you made those yourself?

Very nice work, you should be proud. Sad that you lost your "children" in the fire. :(

The pickups I made... 11K wide spaced humbucker and a split singlecoil at the neck.

4 and 2 headstock has straight string path through the "nut"... actually a string guide, note the German fret... There is no nut.
