How would I decorate my home if I had limitless $? My body is my home, I might have my body tattooed in tiger stripes from head to toe...lol...I live on a sailboat and it doesn't need much decoration.

I'd have a compound of yurts and domes, somewhat portable.

Interior, wood floors, radiant heat, rustic tile, ultra low flow shower head, one yurt with a wood fired or solar powered hot tub.

Adequate kitchen: couple of induction burners, a small oven, prep space, small pantry.

And, maybe I lived through a different 1980s, but they kinda sucked.
I was living in a small car for a year.

I do have a house and I have and am decorating.. a little at a time..

My main living area has a driftwood mantel over the fireplace, lots of windows, wood floors and with a Native American theme... My second living area is carpeted and in an Asian theme....

I have a pond room with koi in a sunroom where I can meditate... a loft room with a great view... bedroom with a private deck... large bathroom that I'm planning on getting a sauna installed... Mostly wood floors, but tile in the bathrooms...

I have altars in almost every room... My pagan one is in the main living room, a Buddhist one in second one... smaller ones scattered all over...

My house is my sanctuary, and I rarely have any reason to leave it..

Rustic and simple is my style. It would probably have lots of wood and hand crafted furniture. It would feel like an old pioneer cabin.

The one I'm looking at is an infrared sauna... just plugs into an outlet... probably uses more power than a lamp, but not nearly as much as the other ones.

I also would use a lot of wood in my furniture and maybe even on the lower part of the walls (panels!). If the wood is good it can even be from later than 1989 :p

The greatroom in this house I have now is Redwood from 1948... You can't get this stuff anymore, thankfully the trees are now protected.

Yeah, well you have it now :) If people have money and they really want it they can still get it though... Some feel entitled because others (like you) have it (they don't care that some people got it legally because it's old, in fact old often gives it the status that makes them crave it..)

Money is always the hindrance in renovating your home. Well, it must be.

The key to not blowing you remodeling budget is careful planning. As you work on a budget with a builder, ask the firm to supply a breakdown. What about that?

I would build a big castle, middle ages gothic style and furnish it like a preservation of the times.

silicon dice as tiles for the floors and walls. it would be a very reflective room with lots of potential computing power.

Hehe just the question i was looking fore. I'm gonna move so i think that THIS time, it's gonna be good!

A lot of tapestipes and led lighting, patters everywhere and rugs and plants. Like a really trippy but calm and maroccoan inspired with a lot of pullows, curtains and cool beaded stuff and sequins. the walls are to be black with one white wall to put picures/posters and my big mirror on.

Hmm..of course with a mix of my favourite colors (blue, red, pink, green, purple, black...)
