I recently visited a Hindu temple and I was really drawn to one particular deity. I was told it was the god of courage. I'm pretty sure the name started with an A. I googled Hindu god of courage but can't find anything. The goddess, Durga comes up. I also know that the vehicle of the god I'm looking for is the eagle. Can anyone help me out with this?

Do you remember what the diety looks like at all? Multiple limbs? Holding anything significant?

A bright image keeps popping into my head but it's sort of hard to describe..
I think the right hand palm was facing forward and there was actually something covering the eyes... and some sort of tassels near the chest area...large lips...

Lakshmi or Indra? A lot of the deities are considered symbols of courage.

But I am confused now. I don't know, is he the god of courage ?

In any case, this is the song I like about him-

It says good morning, wakes him up and calls to start his days work.

The deity associated with courage may be Shiva. This is because he is the one associated with Tapas, or equanimity of mind in all situations or circumstances. The half moon he wears is symbolic of tapas as well.

Also note that he is wedded to the deity Parvati, who is associated with victory in war.

Vasudevā, and Veṅkaṭācalapati, is a form of the Hindu god Vishnu. According to the Hindu scriptures, Vishnu out of love towards his devotees, incarnated as the supreme form of Venkateswara. Wikipedia
