Man I would do anything to go to burning man, I've never been but it's always been my dream.

Alas I have no one to go with and my anxiety tends to make me fearful of going alone :C

That is the right start. Make your dream happen, you'll be glad you did.

You will never be alone there unless you choose to. Anxiety is no reason to be fearful of going, alone or with someone. The Burn is very good place to go to sort things out, and I'll promise you that you'll discover a way to work on "letting go" in a life changing way if you can find the strength to push thru and manifest the experience in your life.

Promise to write some form of TR, but be forewarned, I've been home for 12hrs and i'm still struggling with the "regular" world. I either have to keep it brief and borrow heavily from other sources, or i'll have to write a book.

    And I'm no author.... :sunny:

    till then, this might suffice:

jealousy is not something that moves you forward in a positive way, there are two regionals in the UK

    http://regionals.burningman.com/

maybe (well, i've heard anyway) that connecting with the local scene, meeting folk that have done the hard trip of going from England, or Thailand, or...
those are the people that can help you make the trip, but if nothing else through the regionals you have the opportunity to bring Burning Man to you without going to Nevada.

So, someone has turned BM into a money making venture? Wasn't it free to begin with? Typical, if that's the case.

Logistics isn't cheap. Especially when you have to bring infrastructure to a desert.
You go supply porta-potties for 40K people without money.

If you went to burning man you would understand the cost. It must take a great deal of time to organize something so huge, plus costs of toilets, making sure playa is in perfect condition. It isn't a money making venture, more like our money goes into making it happen. We all put in our share, there is no money once inside (although I know they now do coffee bar with real money meh). I have never in my life seen something so incredible. I have only been once in 2005 and always hoped to go back. I remember the feeling of having to readjust to the regular world, it can be quite shocking to come back after living free even if for only a few days. I believe every person should go to burning man once. Just to experience what people can do and how people can be is worth every penny.

I get both your your points on that. For some odd reason, spontaneous gatherings are more for me. Well, anyway---I hope good times for those who go.
