I try to avoid artificial food coloring as much as possible..and HFCS. It is astounding how many prepackaged foods have HFCS in them

Anywho, yesterday I made a simple pasta dish - the recipe called it rosa penne. It is basically a creamy tomato sauce made with tomatoes and spinach, garlic and red pepper flakes, with a bit of Greek yogurt to make it creamy. Served over penne.

I love super simple, quick pasta dishes. If anyone has any recipes throw them my way!

My favorite poor food recipes from childhood:

Tuna Noodle Casserole:

1 Bag Noodles

1 or 2 Cans Tuna Fish

1 or 2 Cans Cream of Mushroom Soup

Cook noodles mix in tuna and soup after done.

American Chop Suey:

1 Box of Elbow Macaroni

1 Lb Hamburger

2 Cans Tomato Soup

1 Onion (optional)

1 Green Pepper (optional)

Cook the Macaroni. Pan fry Onion, Pepper, and Hamburger. Mix together with Tomato Soup. If you want you can add canned tomatoes or substitute them for soup.

C/S,

Rev J

I like tuna sandwiches or tuna salad..although trying to eat sardines instead because they're healthier and less likely to be full of toxic waste

but i've never been able to stomach tuna casserole

I do make an american style goulash type dish similar to your second recipe on occasion

I don't care for it either, but I wonder if it's because of the canned soup that the recipes always call for. Now on this low sodium regimen, I can't use canned soups, they have so much sodium. I have to find (or concoct) a tuna casserole recipe that doesn't count on canned soup. I hate when I look up recipes and they use canned soup. To me recipes are from scratch, not putting together already prepared foods. Might as well heat up a totally prepared meal and save the time.

Yup, most foods with high fructose corn syrup in the ingredients are already bad quality foods to begin with. What's more amazing is how many people think it's better for you than sugar, not realizing it's chemically extracted and has contaminants like mercury in it. Horrid stuff.
