I've fallen out of the loop, I'm afraid... The last party I went to that had a jungle feature was Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas in 2015 or some time around then. I think what really put me out was they had booked Dj Dan for that party, who is a very famous house Dj, and put him in this rinky dink "Funk" area instead of as mainstage talent... What'd he do to deserve that?! Lol! It kind of turned me off to parties in a subliminal kind of way. But when I was going to raves in the very early 2000s, there were some pretty cool jungle/d&b areas. I remember this one Halloween party where they booked Aphrodite... Monster Massive. Must've been 2003.
I haven’t partied since about 2009! I came down with a bump let me tell you! 9 years of mayhem on radio or in fields..... Internet, peoples houses and a couple of our own events..... Prior to that a few years of hardcore raving dating back to about 95. What a ride! I’ll get my way through the titles on this little lot and we will have a collection of drum and bass right here mate!
Just so we're clear, I am not the woman in my avatar in any way... I'm a guy from California. I raved from 2001 or thereabouts until maybe 2005; though an associated forum (yes there were forums back then) hung on until maybe 2006. It stopped being as fun when the forum fell apart though, and I haven't partied regularly in ages. Afterwards, I had a drinking habit until 2013 when I stopped. Not long after I found myself here at HipForums. Very jungly-sounding Aphex Twin stuff from ages ago...
Dude I’ve been here only just long enough to know you’re a bro...... Hence why I said whoa bro just a few posts back..... But thanks for reminding me not to have a crafty over your saucy self! And yes we did forums back then! It was kunninmindz or something? An internet radio station. (Not our gig, we just had a slot, which was cool! World wide broadcasting had a certain charm......)
Not technically jungle..... But I cried when I was given this record as a present. Literally overwhelmed! It is one of my all time faves. Many memories. It’s a good introductory tune to those that say meh it all sounds the same. No, no it doesn’t! circles.
Old skool! This period of dance lasted for maybe 18 months. That’s probably too long. I was a lucky witness.
An absolute old skool classic. A few years earlier than those last two. A more relaxed pace but oh my, what a record!
