Bilingual in Spanish and English (Spanish being my first language.) I want to learn Italian and have taken classes before. It's such a beautiful language. I can read and understand it, Since it's quite similar to Spanish. But my spelling and the way I speak it sucks.
I would love to learn french since I have a lot of family from there that comes and visits and can't speak any English. My grandma can talk to them just fine but I took two years of it in High School and know next to nothing.
I would like to learn Arabic and Hebrew, and definitely Russian so I could read the great literature.
Ah, learning languages is fun. I've had the privilege to study and learn Portuguese, French and Japanese over the years, which has been great. Fluent in all three, as well as English obviously. I'd love to learn Italian, German, Zulu and basically any other language that is out there. The more, the better!
Norwegian or Old Norse. And I'd like to learn other runework than the elder Futhark. Maybe old English or gothic styles.
I took 2 yrs of French in high school and 2 yrs in college...I can count from 1-10 and I know the words for girl, pretty, boy and pig. That's about it. I am fluent in Southern Redneck and Smart Assness. I wish I knew Spanish...I like the way it sounds.
English, because I can't understand this language when people speak (when is spoken). Also french (like english, I can't speak or listen it, but I can understand the write... better than english). Then, Portoguese, because I love theyr tradition :daisy:
I already speak English, German, Spanish, PA Dutch and can sign in ASL. I would REALLY love to learn Dutch and Arabic. I tried to learn a bit of Dutch while in the Netherlands, but it's a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. I think the more languages you know, the easier it is to learn a new one. At least that's been my experience.
I taught myself the alphabet in 4th grade because I knew a boy who was my age and deaf. He helped me learn words over the next several years. I kept learning and it came in handy several times. I actually still have the book I bought when I was 9! The best part with ASL is that there's only 1 form - no written AND verbal like most other languages - just the physical form!
once and hopefully not if I 'finish' Japanese, I'd love to move on to a 3rd language. It's too bad I forgot my Ethiopian heritage and have no real use for it.. I could maybe relearn that. Maybe annoyingly bad French? Canadian? I guess passable Spanish would be the most logical choice.
