I just finished Shelby Foote's Civil War so now I'm reading something just for enjoyment. Michael Flynn's book Firestar.
I just getting into Shantaram by Gregory Roberts, If you haven't read it before I'd suggest picking up a copy. I also have Villa Incognito by Tom Robbins & Tending the Wild by M. Kat Anderson & Talking with Nature/Journey into Nature by Michael Roads on my night stand that I alternate through. I usually like to have a few different books going as I can pick something that fits my current mood.
I'm not reading anything currently, but I'm thinking about reading Atlas Shrugged, it looks pretty good
OK this will sound foolish to some (no doubt); but this is called "Night Wars" by Graham Masterton. It is very good...and about 5 ordinary people that turn into fantastic (Matrix-like) night-warriors (in sleep), and them getting together and fighting that age-old battle of good vs evil. I love it!
Black Elk: The Sacred Ways Of A Lakota. It's about Wallace Black Elk's road to becoming a shaman. It's early on, but I'm impressed so far.
I love those pocket classsics published by shambala, paledine press books are pretty good .anything on; art ,culture, psychedelics, medical plants, religion, philosophy, tactics and stategy, science mostly physics, and anything on free energy. currently chewing through tsun tzu again.
Ooooooooo that sounds majorly good. For some reason, the name Black Elk sounds like a person (not just "character") in a Lynn Andrews book. Could this be true?
Wallace Black Elk was definitely a real person. He passed away in 2004. One of his teachers was Nicholas Black Elk, also a famous shaman who had a couple of books written about him, Black Elk Speaks being the most famous. He passed in 1950.
i'm reading "The Bourne Identity' by Robert Ludlum. have paused Angels and Demons and started this one. looks like it's gonna be better.
I loved the ideas in Brave New World, but the writing wasn't always as strong as the concepts. Atlas Shrugged is ok but a lot of hard work and frequent facepalming. Reading a lot ATM, including Scarlet Letter and Sherlock Holmes.
Just finished On the Origin of Species by Darwin. Currently reading V. by Pynchon and Walden by Thoreau.
