CLEVELAND — A convicted rapist who was caught, in part, as a result of a cell phone sting involving his victim was sentenced Tuesday to a decade behind bars, Fox 8's Stacey Frey reports. The 10-year sentence for Dwight Gales, 43, was the maximum he could get under his plea deal. In April, Gales grabbed a woman walking near West 25th Street and Scranton Road. He knocked her in the head with a gun, dragged her into an abandoned Tremont house and raped her repeatedly for three hours. I agree 100000%. The reason all this shit is on tv is because people actually watch the shit. Like this girl I know who watches Jersey Shore, I was asking her why in the world she would waste her time on it, and she always says something like "I know it's bad, but that's why I watch it!" People aren't stopping to think. It's disgusting.
You're absolutely right. I don't watch any major news networks anymore, and I gave up on local news years ago. Local news is purely voyeuristic...there is no real reason to know that a woman was raped, a child was killed, an elderly woman's house burned down and she died inside......these things do not fall under the category of being well informed, in my opinion. However, how do you stay well-informed while ignoring biased media at the same time? Any suggestions for news sources that are unbiased and informative?
Even if you were to find that, you still have your own bias', imho. But I tend to read a few sources and remember what is the same in all and ignore the rest.
