Called the Hotshot, the condom has been produced after government research showed 12 to14-year-olds did not use sufficient protection when having sex. The study, conducted on behalf of the Federal Commission for Children and Youth, interviewed 1,480 people aged 10 to 20. Ha, I can only imagine if they tried that in the US. The fundies go nuts over real sex ed and normal adult condoms. Remember, abstinence only education really works. Sarcasm is a virtue.
Well, certainly beats 12 yo's having unprotected sex... But still boggles the mind a bit. Shrug. If you're sexually mature though, and with a consensual partner near your own age... Humans will be humans.
i'm going into the morning after pill business, i'm going to call it 'don't let your mummy and daddy find out' in light of this, i'm hoping for great returns
Well I guess its a good idea. Hopefully they are aren't actually being marketed to 12 year olds. As above poster said, just say extra small condoms or something like that
It's the market's way of making a bit of extra cash, the population is aging, probably having less sex, or have a need for condoms.
How does one market condoms towards 12 year olds anyhow? They already have flavored ones. Are they coming with Yu-Gi-Oh cards or something? Well, as long as reduces STD's and teenage (/tweenage? ) pregnancies I'm all for it. Wouldn't recommend fucking around at that age, though.
many kids develop earlier now, especially girls - girls in fact hit puberty earlier if they have a single mother, and there are a lot of single mothers these days. In any case, providing free contraception will not encourage them to do it, but rather prevent kids giving birth to kids.
Well.. it's strange to us because our society tells us that people shouldn't have sex until they are considered 'mature', and the age slightly varies depending on where you are at. However, in the past children had sex at ages as early as 10, 11, and 13. Infact, the youngest girl to get pregnant was 5 years old I believe. I think this took place in the 1930s, not completely sure though. Anyway, it's only recently that sexual activity and age have had any sort of issue. Society trends!
