I've done some nude modeling for "trigger happy" friends of mine, but nothing on a professional level. I'm wondering if any others have done any nude modeling, what type they've done, where they do it and what sort of experience it is? ~Tina
I did some nude modelling but stopped doing it as I wanted to do serious modelling (promotions, magazines etc). Make sure you do your research into who is taking the pictures as the ones i did mines with had a good portfolio. The experience isn't as bad as people think, but I would advise you have the support of people before you go into it.
I did some when I was in college, for art classes. I wasn't used to doing that sort of thing back then, so it scared the shit out of me at first, but I got used to it eventually. The only other problems were the pain from having to hold still so long, and the extreme formality imposed by the faculty. The art students weren't even allowed to speak to me during that semester, even if they ran into me somewhere else on campus, under threat of failing the class. I can understand why they had that policy, but it seemed weird at the time. It was an incredible experience in terms of confidence-building. Once you get used to being the only naked person in a room full of strangers, you feel like you can handle almost anything.
I think there's a difference, not just in the eyes of the beholder. Nude modelling to allow drawing in an art class is not porn to me. Posing for a page 3 style photo or video is.
I have done nude modeling at the local univeristy and art school for classes. I have also work with some local photographers. It has been a great experience fo me.
Well, the kind of nude modeling I do is for porn. I've recently been considering doing some additional "regular" nude modeling as well, but I need to get back in shape first.
i do it every few months for extra spending $$$. i only do it with the understanding that Kevin is always present for my safety and have made $400. in one session that lasted about 2 hours. amy
I have had nude pics taken by trigger happy photographers and by my partner and I have taken pics of her but that is it and there are nude pics of us on amateur sites on the net.
While I am a landscape photographer by profession, hence giving it 'from the other side', the fact that I am also a nudist and work naked a lot of the time in the bush would probably endear me to somebody who wants to try nude modelling in my studio or on the beach. No problem! My observations is that the teenagers of today are more open to nudity and the idea of nude modelling to 'get themselves out there' and publicised. Recently I got an entirely shaven (including head) older chap down at the nude beach to lie face down on the sand, head on folded arms, and shoot him low-down from a distance. This was a play on the famous Australian photographer Max Dupain's B&W image of a 'Bondi Sunbaker' (date I can't recall). I did my image of the guy on colour film using a pinhole camera — a much more fiddly undertaking! Other than this, I haven't been approached by anybody asking about nude modelling, and I don't actively seek it out; just not in my main stream of activities, but would be interested.
:cheers2: I think it's amazing how long the benefits of something like that can stay with you. My college slut phase has nearly played itself out over the years, but I'm still the same confident exhibitionist at heart. I still think I could walk naked down the middle of Main Street at noon, if it wasn't for the tiny little problem of going to jail.
Being a photographer who works naked with often naked subjects (M & F) has conditioned not just me, but all those around me; so what if I am a bit of an exhibitionist, I encourage others to liberate themselves as I have. So many students in Visual Arts today feel ashamed to disrobe in the name of art, almost stunted in their creative capacity and breath of imagination. I can't remember that far back when I did my degree but I think we organised tame static/motile shoots semi-clothed — a far and distant scene from today! I shoot rapid-fire (10fps) with continuous movement so the naked body is blurred except for directional or aimed snoot lights. I am trying to source a black-skinned model (possibly Sudanese) to pose beneath a venetian blind with the light streaming through — to facilitate imaging the much-desired 'Zebra effect'. Nothing happening until next week now as having some kitchen remodelling done — meaning some beefy tradies are going to turn up this afternoon.
Plus maybe the back half of a miniskirt sometimes, for sitting down in public places on seats that might not be clean. :ack2:
When I was in college I posed nude a few times for friends (drawing and sketching) and, of course, a few times (very few) for boy friends (back in the pre-digital days of Polaroid cameras) and many times for my husband, especially since the advent of digital cameras. (Will I pose for you? Nope.)
Done nude modeling once, but with my girlfriend at the time. I also use to strip for parties and what not.. until I had a very bad experience. That lasted about a month, but was a nice source of extra income.
My husband and I are both photographers and do photograph nudes now and then. Noramally, we are the ones behind the camera, but both of us have also been in front of the camera baring all as well.
