Well, actually I am not a conservative as you seem to be implying. Nor am I a liberal. Because you are more or less a product of the media's brainwashing, you can only see things in black and white. You are like most people who don't get it and merely regurgitate what they hear on the tube.

Yes, left and right have to do with the size and scope of government. The fact is both Democrats and Republicans support big government and taking away individual freedoms and liberties. The two sides merely use empty talking points and social issues to differentiate themselves, but in reality there is no difference between what most people perceive as right and left in this country.

A real college? Colleges are controlled by the establishment, and that is why they churn out so many people who become servants of the corrupt system. There is a difference between a free-thinking intellectual and someone who has been educated/indoctrinated by the system to serve it. A brainwashed person cannot grasp this, though, and they automatically associate education with intelligence, when in fact the two are almost completely antithetical to each other.

Sure, if we're just making up definitions.

Really? So what real difference is there between communism and fascism. It's the same fucking thing -- enslavement and death. Fascism is nothing more than authoritarian/totalitarian rule.

Well, the difference is that you get to Communism by taking Left-Wing ideology to ridiculous extremes, and you get to Fascism by taking Right-Wing ideology to ridiculous extremes.

But if you really ask "What is the difference between Communism and Fascism?" like it's a rhetorical question, you should probably back away from the adult table and let the grown-ups talk.

But it results in the same fucking thing. Who cares if it's labeled left or right if it results in the same fucking outcome??

There's a difference between a label and a definition. And it matters because you seem to think if you keep marching farther and farther Right, the only thing that happens is you get closer and closer to Utopia. In the real world -- the one the rest of us happen to live in -- you actually get to Fascism that way.

Because if you can tell the difference, you can try to steer the country left when it's too far right, and vice-versa.

Pretending there's no difference between the two is just plain retarded.

Hey my friend was eaten by a shark.

Wait wasn't he hiking through the woods? How did he come accross a shark?

Look asshole, it ate him. Who cares if it's called a shark or a bear when the end result is the same?

You know, you could try picking up a history book, instead of letting everyone else do the hard work for you.

    Is this your homework, Timmy?

I mean, seriously, if you're claiming that enslavement and death are the sufficient prerequisites for Communism/Fascism, then most absolute monarchies, the Caliphate and pre-Industrial America were both Communist and Fascist. Are the Mongols fascist communists, Timmy?

Do you actually think about what you are writing and try to come up with counterexamples before hitting the post button? That's a rhetorical quesiton, don't worry about answering it. We all know you don't.

Im English & in Europe we understand that there are very fundermental differences between Fascism & Communism & Socialism. First off Communism has never,in reality, existed. It was Marx'es idea of what a socailist society would work toward creating;socailism evolved if you like. Neither Russians , Chinese nor Cubans ever got close to it. They didnt even make a good job of socialism!
Fascism is inherently militaristic but its paymasters,as you suggest, are the big Coorporations as it was in Germany & Italy. Left wing Fascism is a contradiction in terms okay. Like saying "thats a kinda square circle".kabiesh?
Socialism in its theory, always works toward collectivism, toward communism using the State toward that end. Fascism has no pretense of people empowerment, individual or collective. You may not like us Socialists much but you should be scared of Fascists left or whatever other fakery they call themselves.

Spin, spin, spin. Fascism is on the same side of the political spectrum as the Republican party, and of course the neo-cons and Tea Party being far Right, with skinheads, KKK, neo-Nazis and their ilk being radical Right. Communism is on the same side of the spectrum as the Democrats. There really are very few radical left groups these days, but in the olden days we'd be talking about the Weathermen or the SDS, or the Black Panthers at the fringe. Totalitarianism on the other hand can occur under either political system, and I think that is really what some people get confused about. Freedoms are squelched under the extremes of either Fascism or Communism. And you can have a dictator under either system, although more common under fascism. And I agree with the poster above this, Communism was never truly achieved, just experiments in Socialism.

Very true. "Fakery" - fascists have been very effective at that! Look how far Hitler got with it. And, it's starting here in the US. Here is the drivel we hear from the far Right: Socialists are actually fascists! In other words don't look at ME, nothing happening here! I'm just a true Tea Party patriot.

Now there you go again, trying to be logical and mixing in facts, when spin and obfuscation feel so much safer.

Dying of old age and dying of a stab wound to the heart are both the same thing, since they both lead to the same place. why confuse things with labels like "murder" or "natural" vs "unnatural", it all leads to the same place!

in fact we should take a look at all our philosophy and science and reduce it in this manner.

"cold" and "hot" are now the same thing, since at the extremes of both we find survival impossible.

Fascism is indeed totalitarian rule (although even this is not necessarily true). But communism is absolutely not "slavery and death". You might be thinking of one particular iteration of something that we could very loosely call pseudo-communism; ie, Stalinism. Actual "communism" has as its goals the opposite of slavery and death, it values social cohesion and progress against tyranny.

but who needs actual knowledge about things when we can just be mad at everything and too blasé to want to discern the finer meanings in things.

Fascism is by its nature exclusive and hierarchical, whereas the left is inclusive and egalitarian. You can't have an egalitarian fascist state.

    I really don't think they're compatible.

You can have a left-wing dictatorship, though.

You couldn't possibly have ever gone to university.

How is studying the works of some of the deepest, best thinkers of all time with accredited academics and published authors somehow antithetical to intelligence?

Is this something you've researched or are you just trying to make yourself feel better about not having graduated?

Margaret Meade described a peaceful, eglaterian, communism on the Island of Samoa.

Too bad its such a small sample.
