You mentioned Dr. Bronners soap as a shampoo, yes? What kind? Because there's Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Almond, Rose, Citrus, Baby Mild, Lavender and Tea Tree? Which one should I use?

Omg, someone's actually using the faq :2thumbsup: I have personally used either the tea tree, or the peppermint one. Never tried the others.

I used rose but I think I may go for peppermint if I get some again :D

Some may argue the different 'flavours' of soaps will have different qualities depending on the particular oil used, for example tea tree is an anti-biotic (though whether that would come out in the soap I have no idea :D) so that may be worth thinking about, if you want something else to debate about rather than the smell :D

    mmm minty fresh dreadies

Well I know some people argue that Citrus has something in it that can help the dreads lock? Or that peppermint can help with the whole itching issue? Is that true? That and I truly believe lavender smells like ass.

Hellooo. I have a question, gonna post it here instead of making a thread and hope that someone sees it.

I have a bunch of locks, the first one showed up last summer. The thing is, I never stopped using my regular shampoo.
Now, people seem to advice against using regular shampoos because of the residues. But, what kind of residues are we talking here?
Is it stuff that lays on the scalp? Is it bad for the locks themselves? Is my hair eventually going to grow it's own ecosystem? Is there something I should worry about?

The thing is, most of the stuff I read online about it, seemed like freaking dread-shampoo advertisements...
The only forum posts that I found around the internet of people complaining about residues, was either related to wax or dread-shampoo...

For how long did you use regular shampoo?
