Hey! You're letting me post! That must mean I've been accepted! Yeah, I belong here! Now then, I'm tired of leggins& tee shirts. There has to be some place I can order hip clothes from the late 60's. If not, I do sew, how about fabrics & patterns? Also, are there any communes still existing in northern Cal., Oregon, Washington state area? I'm thinking of re-locating.

We used to make bell bottoms by ripping out the bottom leg seams of blue jeans, spreading them and sewing in bandannas.
    The chicks did anyway.

I saw a few of those. They were awesome looking! I never knew they were hand made.

Or take apart the jeans and make a skirt and insert to bandannas in the front. I loved my skirt. :)

    Yeah, I forgot about those.

Also the girls would patch up the holes in your jean knees for you.

Before bell bottoms we would rip out the lower seam on jeans and frey the ends with a comb, did that on cut offs also.

Ok guys, how about the commune part. I'll soon be 60 & I'm thinking of running away from home & joining one. :-D

Not too long ago, someone said to me (in a rather derogatory way) that I reminded her of a hippie. I replied, 'thank you for noticing. You remind me of a conservative republican.'

Labor day.... I went to Ocean City with a few friends. Had some cool looking shops on the board walk, so I went in a tee shirt shop. We were getting ready to leave soon, so I saw this cool looking Greatful Dead tee, paid for it & we went on our way. After getting home, I took my shirt out of the bag, BIG grin my face, spread it out nice & smooth on my bed so I could get a better look at it with all its psychedelics..... it said, Greatfully Dead!?!?! My smile fell right off my face & hit the floor. I think my dog has it now. (My smile, not the shirt)...... The shirt?
Well I'm putting that on a scarecrow for Halloween & proping him up against a
    tombstone!
