Al DiMeola, I was fortunate to see (and meet) him last month at the House of Blues in Vegas. Although jazz purists often dismiss him, the guy just wails.

Hopefully this link will work.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHnth4Av-Nk

Having the chops to play with Chick Corea and Stanley Clark at nineteen years old says something too....

He has about as much swing and melodic rhythm as a lamp post. Although a very talented guitarist, I wouldn't call him Jazz.

    Yes, I'm a Jazz Purist.:D:tongue:

    Here's one for you L.A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKtQ-7Du9bA
I wonder how he would have sounded if could have used four fingers? I had a wonderful live album with Stephan Grappelli and David Grismon made in the early eighties that you should give a listen to (if you haven't already)

    Bill...

Nice video, Bill. One of my favourites. I don't think him having 4 fingers would have made much difference. He already sounds like Angels in the Sunrise musk.

I love scofield and also (though he's not a jazz guitarist) Trey Anastasio who can play some amazing jazz.

Scofield is mind blowing...I can't get enough of his Ray Charles tribute.

I will also go with John Scofield. After seeing him in December of 2006 with Medeski Martin and Wood hes now one of my fave guitarists of all time. He sounds like Jimi Hendrix, Charlie Hunter, Reed Mathis, and Eric Clapton (60's and 70's clapton) all at the same time.
