Yeah so which solos would be on your top 5 ?? mine would have to be... hmm this is a tricky one.. 1. pink floyd's - comfortably numb 2. led zeppelin's - whole lotta love 3. The Doors - five to one (mann I love those solo parts) 4. Lynard Skynard 's - freebird 5. I love Stillwater's - fever dog on almost famous.. that solo is amazing! mann this is too hard!! I cant think right now either.. anyway... what are your top 5 ?? xxxxxxxxx charlie
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb Jimmi Hendrix - Hey Joe Led Zeppelin - Since I've been loving you Who - We're not gonna take it Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the devil
Yes - Yours Is No Disgrace Genesis - Firth of Fifth The Grateful Dead - Alligator The Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps Pink Floyd - Dogs
Television - "Marquee moon" The Doors - "Five to one" Led Zeppelin - "The Lemon Song" JImi Hendrix - "voodoo child" Grateful Dead - "alligator"
I used to love Lynyrd Skynyrd and I still think they're a good band...but Freebird isn't all that it's cracked up to be. I went to see them last year...I pretty much went for the Allmans though.
I don't have a top 5 favrotie solos that are from studio albums. All of my favorite solos are those that are improvised. I love pretty much anything Trey plays. Frank Zappa is a good un' too. Shitload of others.
I love the Solo in Lynyrd Skynyrd's Simple Man.... Its not extraordinarly great but without it the song just wouldnt have as much emotional power to it.
Allman Bros.-Blue Sky Black Sabbath-Paranoid Kiss-Detroit Rock City or Shock Me April Wine-Sign of the Gypsy Queen Santana-Any
Greatest Guitar Solos that no one gives a shit about... 1. Deep Purple - Highway Star (the fastest guitar solo... ever) 2. Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You (better soloing on this track than Stairway, I know I'm gonna get harrassed for that...) 3. Pink Floyd - Astronomy Domine (Ummagumma version, Gilmour tears it up on this one) 4. Yes - Close To The Edge (it's an 18 minute song, but the first 3 minutes are for Steve Howe) 5. The Grateful Dead - Dire Wolf (Garcia's pedal steel soloing really makes the song)
No contesting this one! Gilmour rules, damn I love when he's sitting down barefoot manipulating all of his effect knobs in the "live at pompei" video..one morning I was watching/listening to that and I swear I warped into another dimension! Great, great stuff.
