what? No Zeppelin, Black Sabbath or Deep Purple 0.o???? Thats not right.... For my favs I'd Have TO say Black Sabbath's Master Of Reality and Paranoid, Led Zeppelin I and IV, Deep Purple's Machine Head And Iron Butterfly's In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
Blizzard of Ozz is a great album, but it isn't in my top ten. Black Sabbath is for sure! Rainbow - Long live rock 'n roll is a superb album as well. Ten of my favourite albums I consider heavy rock: - 500 ft. of Pipe - 2001 - Dope deal (check out their cover of Donovans Sunshine superman!) - The Atomic Bitchwax - 1999 - The atomic bitchwax - Black Sabbath - 1971 - Masters of reality (but the first two as well ) - Blue Cheer - 1968 - Vincebus eruptum - Halfway to Gone - 2002 - Second season - Greenleaf - 2001 - Revolution rock - Lowrider - 2000 - Ode to Io - Nebula - 1998 - Let it burn EP - Orange Goblin - 1999 - Time travellin' blues - Sonic Flower - 2003 - Sonic flower (check these Japanese guys out!)
Sorry forgot....Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell, Led Zeppelin 4 but there is only room for 10 in my list lol.
1. Van Halen I - Van Halen 2. Aerosmith - Rocks 3. Pieces of Eight - Styx 4. Who's Next - the who 5. Deep Purple - Who do we think we are 6. Van Halen - Fair Warning 7. Rush - Grace Under Pressure 8. Black Sabbath (1st album) 9. Blind Faith 10. Steve Winwood - Talking back to the night
Someones going to have to define what heavy rock is since some of you are listing Aerosmith, Thin Lizzy.....and Kiss???
1 Uriah Heep Live 73 ( I was at that Concert 2 Led Zep 2 3 Who's Next 3 Live And Dangerous Thin Lizzy 4 Deep purple in rock 5 Groundhogs Split 6 Uriah Heep Very ' eavy ' very ' umble 7 The Sensational Alex Harvey band Next 8 Wishbone Ash Argos 9 Budgie in for the kill 10 Black Sabbath Volume 4 Notice No > nu metal , Thrash metal , industrial ,toxicwaste , space , Psychedelic Or whatever (and nothing after the late 70s ) These were The originals ! cant think of any Heavy Metal Bands that were not British Either ? I wait to be Educated on that one :scholar:
Old but I named some good ones back then But my favourites have slightly changed :-D It appears I posted a top 10 of what really were my favs at that moment. Not of all time.
I still like it too. But they're not really my absolute favs. Of Orange Goblin I would pick The big black now for example. And Halfway to gone wouldn't be in the top 10 at all
1. Blue Cheer- Vicebus Eruptum 2. Black Sabbath- Masters of Reality 3. Judas Priest- Stained Class 4. Lord Vapour 5. Fuzz 6. Scorpions- Lovedrive 7. Iron Maiden 8. Motorhead- Ace of Spades 9. Rush- A Farewell to Kings 10. Black Sabbath- Vol.4
I am confused. I am sure you have some rules in your head that you didn't put down but there are more heavy metal bands from the USA than British. Or was that not nu metal not thrash not industrial ect ect ect. Kiss and van Halen are just as heavy as a few you mentioned. As for my list just because something is original dosnt mean it's better and secondly many on your list I would never consider hard rock so some i like I may not think are hard enough but maybe you would.
Refused- the shape of punk to come Metallica- master of puppets Static x- Wisconsin death trip Led zeppelin- iv Flyleaf- self titled Korn- life is peachy Nirvana- incesticide MOD- USA for MOD Godsmack- self titled Tool- undertow This is all just off the top of my head. If I was home and could look through my CDs it would likely be very different. Edit: I refuse to number them they are all equally as good if I am in the mood for that cd.
