In 22yrs of being a Dylan fan, I have yet to find someone who agrees with me on this but for me STREET LEGAL is simply sheer class with the added bonus that it includes my favorite Dylan song - the amazing "Changing of the Guards" - pure genius !

    Bringing It All Back Home
    Highway 61 Revisited
    Nashville Skyline

He had more great albums in the 60's than most artists could ever dream of having

All in all, probably Another Side of Bob Dylan. The songwriting on that album is just phenomenal. Desire is a close second.

I like Blonde on Blonde the most. I just love the vibes of the songs, plus the album artwork is great, simple.

    Agreed. Blonde on Blonde

Nashville Skyline is good too, as is Highway. But truthfully, he has loads of great albums- I really enjoyed Modern Times.

While reading through all the responses I was all set on this being mine:
"I must be weird, because mine is Street Legal, and this one has been mentioned by NOONE"
    Now instead I must say:
Street Legal, Catch the wind you have officially found someone who agrees with you! My second choice is weird too, I would have to say Desire.

I wouldn't say it's my favourite album, but I'd agree that Changing Of The Guards is pure genius! One of Dylan's finest in my opinion.

It does change depending on my mood, but it's probably between Bringing It All Back Home, The Basement Tapes and Blood On The Tracks.

    Desire

I think I would have appreciated Dylan more if he had regularly been in a group setting.

Although they're not quite as legendary as Bob I think you should check out Leonard Cohen and Lou Reed/The Velvet Underground. Also, the grateful dead and Neil Young. If you're into the more political folky stuff Joan Baez, Pete Seeger and Phil Ochs aren't bad either.

My very favorite dylan albums are Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde on Blonde

My favorite studio album has to be Highway 61 Revisited, its a very close contender with Blonde on Blonde.

My favorite live album is the one I just recently bought. The bootleg series Vol 4. I absolutely love it.

I'm gonna have to go with Highway 61 Revisted. I just love the songs on this album more than his other ones.
